    Timing for the Salem Common lights (light posts around the common and the bandstand) needs to be adjusted. At 8:00 pm last night, Sept. 7, the Common was pitch dark. With the transients hanging around there, this makes the area very sketchy.

    At the top of Williams Street, at Washington Square, several squirrels have been found dead at the base of the electric pole. Two last week alone. Are they possibly getting electrocuted by something up there that is not grounded correctly? There seems to be a box or meter about 7 feet up from the ground that lacks a cover.

    Lights in Salem Common need to be adjusted due to earlier sunset. Sun is setting about 6:00 and lights are not going on until past 6:30. Awfully dark and creepy there, but not in a good Halloweeny way!

    Sidewalks all around this park (Bridge St. In front of the jail) are totally buried. Someone plowed the driveway to A&B Burgers (city? jail managers?) but it's a dead end to continue walking towards St. Peter St. We're all walking in the street to and from the depot. Dangerous situation!
