Gallows Hill Resident

  • 31-35 Boston Street Salem Massachusetts - City of Salem
Concerning the traffic light/crosswalk on Boston St., across from the opening of Federal St.: The button to request the walk signal is missing. This is one of the safer crosswalks to use to cross this stretch of Boston St., and drivers are now ignoring pedestrians in the crosswalk because they still have the green light and there's no way to request to cross. Fun times. Please fix as soon as possible.

Property owner has not shoveled sidewalk around property on Hanson and Putnam St.
  • 244-252 Bridge Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem

The crosswalk signal at the opening of the lower train station entrance is finicky. Some days, after pushing the button, it works fine; other days I've stood waiting through 2 traffic light cycles before I finally decide to risk crossing without it--which I hate doing because it's dangerous to do there. Yes, there's another entrance to the station, but it doesn't negate the fact that this light isn't working properly.

I commute with the rush hour folks, so anywhere between 7:30-8:10 is the time frame in which I'm crossing at this crosswalk and experiencing issues.

Large, deep pothole on Loring Ave. right past Peacock Alley Hair Salon (heading toward Swampscott). Blew out our winter tire, and could cause someone else damage to their car (or worse).
  • 58-62 Boston Street Salem, Massachusetts - City of Salem
Walgreens on Boston St. has not removed the snow from the sidewalk around their property. Right now, pedestrians have to walk through their parking lot, which is hazardous due to cars pulling in and snow banks blocking views.
