1. At times the traffic lights at this intersection show both yellow AND red for extended periods.
2. This light needs a left turn arrow for eastbound traffic. Eastbound traffic has no idea when they have their protected green light terminated and westbound traffic begin to proceed through the intersection.

There's no indication that this is a protected green. Eastbound has the opportunity to turn left for an unindicated amount of time. There's no way of knowing when traffic will proceed westbound.
