Snow/Ice on Sidewalks ArchivedMountain Ave Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4This was the sidewalk along the Mountain Avenue side of Coyotemore Lea/Holland Pool this morning.
I believe this is the responsibility of the City of Malden.
We need to do better than this. I would rather walk on the sidewalk than in the beautifully cleared street. -
Snow/Ice on Sidewalks ArchivedMain St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4I am writing about the general lack of sidewalk shoveling/clearing following the snowstorm on Sunday-Tuesday of this week. Numerous sidewalks, including residential, business-fronting, and public property have either not been touched at all, or were inadequately cleared and are very treacherous. Is Malden still ticketing people for non-compliance? I'm heading out to do errands and am risking breaking a bone or getting a concussion if I slip on all this ice, and I just saw a woman walking her baby carriage in the street because so many sidewalks are simply impassable. This has been a much worse response to snow than I've seen in years. Please remind all residents and business owners that we need usable sidewalks. Thank you.

Tree - All Other Archived136 Clifton Street Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 3
I'm concerned about the new redbud tree just placed at 136 Clifton for two reasons.
First, there is no irrigation bag to keep this tree watered. I'm trying to hand-water it, but I'm not convinced it will be enough.
Second, unless some sort of protective fence is placed around this tree before winter, it will be killed as soon as the first plowable snowstorm occurs, which seems like a shame.
I'm very happy to see new trees being planted on our streets, and want to see them thrive. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Tree - All Other Archived208 Washington Street Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 3
I'm concerned about the new pear tree just placed at 208 Washington Street for two reasons.
First, there is no irrigation bag to keep this tree watered. I'm trying to hand-water it, but I'm not convinced it will be enough (and I live on Clifton Street, so it's a hike).
Second, unless some sort of protective fence is placed around this tree before winter, it will be killed as soon as the first plowable snowstorm occurs, which seems like a shame.
