    The traffic signal that controls traffic entering/exiting Showcase Cinema de Lux Randolph, at 73 Mazzeo Drive, appears to be malfunctioning.

    The signal appears to operate in a time-based mode throughout the day and night. This causes traffic (hundreds if not thousands of vehicles) on Rte 139 to stop for a red signal at the cinema when no traffic is entering or exiting the cinema and when the cinema is closed.

    Mass DOT states the signal does not belong to them.

    Please confirm if the Town of Randolph or the cinema owners are resposnible for the maintenance and correct operation of the signals at the location.

    Please confirm the correct operation of this signal. Is the signal designed to operate on detection (loops, etc.) or is it time based only?

    Does a defect exist that is causing the signal to operate as I descirbed?

    If a defect does exist, what will the Town of Randolph or cinema owners do to correct the defect and when?
