Notified About

  • 3320 Fruitvale Ave Oakland CA 94602, United States - Dimond
The CVS parking lot on Fruitvale Avenue is nearly always blighted with litter. The community has tried for years to get CVS to have a regular, at least twice weekly, service to pick up the litter. But this has never happened. We request that the city cite and fine CVS until they have a regular, frequent service in place. Victoria Wake, Dimond Improvement Association
  • 32nd St & Magnolia St Oakland, CA, 94608, USA - Clawson

  • 28th St Oakland CA 94607, United States - Clawson
I was elated to find the city had actually done something to remove the blight , then I saw her back at it 7/1 6:00 pm sitting again in an illegal encampment . When can this end ? Arrest her . Citizens are getting organized .

  • 5998 Telegraph Ave Oakland, California, 94609 - Fairview Park
I hold the lease for 5998 Telegraph Ave in Oakland and am trying to run a business. There is a group of 3-5 individuals living in an old chuch bus, an old RV, a white volvo station wagon and a maroon Land Rover along the front of my warehouse on Telegraph Ave between McCauley and 60th St. They have been here without moving the vehicles for at least six months. They leave trash on the sidewalks. I have found hypodermic needles and seen elicit drug activity. They go through the donation bin and leave clothes and debris across the parking lot of my building.

2666 Mountain Blvd Oakland, California, 94611 - Piedmont Pines

Multiple branches from two large pine trees in front of Sequoia Lodge are a hazard to all who enter/exit the building.

The worst is a new LARGE branch that broke today and nearly took out several parked cars. It hangs over one of 2 entrance/exit paths at the building, frequented by adults and children at the Sequoioa Nursery School. The other large pine tree over the other entrance/exit also has a branch that is partially broken and hanging menacingly, making it dangerous to exit and enter via either of the two pathways. There is a likelihood we will have to close the school if this is not addressed urgently.

  • 1949 Mountain Blvd Oakland, California, 94611 - Montclair

The park is a civic asset that we fund as a community and I strongly believe that the primary use should be for inclusive play. At their core, reservations are meant to exclude others, and should not be the primary use of the pickleball courts. That's why I'm asking you to update the policy to make one of the four courts reservable while making the other three available for public play.

Since 3 of the 4 courts are reservable, and are almost always reserved in the after work period when I play pickup, I feel like Montclair Park has lost some of its magic. I can't reliably go to the park and play spontaneously, and often when I do I wait up to an hour with 8 other people for a brief turn on the court.

When people play with reservations, myself included, they tend to just play with people they already knew instead of playing as a part of the greater community. The reservation system has disrupted that spontaneous and community-building vibe that makes pickleball so special. At their best parks bring people together, and the Pickleball Courts at Montclair Park have really done that for me.

So, I've got a request: can we make one of the four courts reservable and keep the other three for community play? Let's keep Montclair Park's pickleball courts uniquely Oakland – a place where inclusion and community shine.

    1384 14th St Oakland, California, 94607 - Oak Center
A homeless encampment is growing on Mandela, attached to our building at 1384 14th Street. There are recurring break ins and vandalism at our facility. The homeless residents have tapped into a city power pole and are using electricity and building fires. Their safety and the safety of our tenants is very concerning.

1728n Wood St Oakland, California, 94607 - Prescott Oakland Point
A semi-trailer truck just stopped by to deliver these new homeless on the block some wooden pallets to start building a new encampment right across the street from my house.
  • 3501 Broadway Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Mosswood
If the city cannot find alternative space for the encampment dwellers in Mosswood Park, the city needs to do a better job of keeping the area clean. Trash everywhere, piles and piles. There are now not one but two private cars that appear to be permanently parked on the sidewalk behind the amphitheater. The amphitheater is quite literally trashed (see pic). There was a knife fight yesterday that broke out in front of the Kaiser Pediatrics building that overlooks this mess. Reportedly it was encampment dwellers. Literally children witnessing the inability of adults to keep them safe and traumatizing them. Shame on our elected leaders to fail their community so poorly.
