Notified About

  • 70 Audubon St New Haven, CT, 06510, USA - Town_Green

The square tiles in the plaza on Audubon St, near Lincoln Way, are getting loose and are getting scattered around. It looks bad and someone potentially could trip.

It would be great if this public space could be repaired before it deteriorates more. Thanks!

  • Ashmun St & Lock St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Downtown

This is an incredibly dangerous intersection for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists. It is a high-volume intersection because drivers from Dixwell and Newhallville uses this route to get downtown. There is a stop sign for drivers on Lock St but no other safety features. Therefore, there is absolutely NO safe way for pedestrians to cross: No crosswalk, no 3-way stop, no traffic light. Drivers frequently turn without checking for pedestrians. A cyclist was hit recently and many pedestrians avoid this intersection. It’s a matter of time before a fatal accident happens.

I would like to request a new Pedestrian crossing sign and a painted (ideally raised) crosswalk. It would also help if this was a 3-way Stop to reduce speeds. Thank you for your consideration.

1-91 Cliff St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Prospect Hill
Edgerton Park is a dog-on-leash park, and yet many, I would say increasingly most dog owners are allowing their dogs off the leash and treating it like a dog park. I understand that everyone needs to get out and get fresh air, but I have not had a visit in the past year with my kids without dogs off the leash harassing us, sometimes aggressively. Dog owners, keep your dog on a leash. Nobody wants to play with your dog. New Haven Police and Animal Control, please enforce the leash laws. My kids have been threatened and charged by dogs there, and have become increasingly skittish. Even if the dog is friendly, we don't want them in our space, be it playing soccer, having a picnic, or sledding.
  • 80-134 Chestnut St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Wooster Square
With all of the development around Wooster Street this sidewalk on Chestnut Street is in desperate need of repair. A lot of work is being done in the area and it would be nice if this sidewalk was safer with all of the everyday walkers!
  • 383 Ferry St New Haven, Connecticut, 06513 - Chatham Square
I have no photos but the first complaint I sent had the wrong address it’s 383- 389 ferry street it’s a two family and the owners live on the first floor the second not sure I think it’s vacant but the lady and her brother Live on the first floor and there’s no running water , the roof and ceilings leak and worse if all the two residents use buckets to use the bathroom and dump the excrement in the back yard they have been doing this for many years it needs to stop now ! There has to be some sort of tests to show all the feces in the yard but also you can clearly see toilet paper on the ground if it hasn’t rained too hard please this has got to be a health hazard ! She has money but won’t fix the house !! Thank you for looking into this deplorable situation ! My next call is channel 8 news if nothing is done thanks again !!
  • Crescent St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Beaver Hills
Please add a crosswalk at Bellevue and Crescent or a sidewalk on the south side of Crescent Street between the Boulevard and Colony. Currently there is no safe way for people coming from Bellevue to cross Crescent St. It is very dangerous, and our street is home to many families with young children who cross the street to visit Beaver Ponds Park and Bowen Field on a regular basis.

What are the zoning allowances for billboards in New Haven? This property company has replaced a lovely mural with an advertisement. https://www.eastrockrealestate.com/ matt@eastrockrealestate.com

  • 342 Yale Ave New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Westville
While I'm grateful for the new surface on Yale Ave, and also appreciative of the attempt to slow traffic and protect bikers, I'm afraid the new striping solution is very problematic. The "floating" parking spots are very dangerous, especially for kids going to Edgewood School. At night, I would never dare park my car in those spots because they are right in the middle of the avenue. Again, I understand the intention, but this solution just doesn't make sense for this road. It's dangerous.
  • Dwight St & Edgewood Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Dwight

I am re-posting this issue because the signal has been fixed twice now, but is once again broken, so this ticket is specifically for the third iteration of it breaking. This is the same signal as others have reported at the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and Dwight.

Some additional information is also that this signal is maintained by city-hired contractors. It was fixed on 2/5/24 (and once more before then), but both times it has been fixed, the signal breaks again almost immediately after. The contractors must be informed the entire unit needs to be replaced, not simply reset.

This broken light is dangerous for a few reasons, and has now caused about 7-8 accidents, a few of which have been quite severe, and all of which have resulted in damage to the involved vehicles.

    1. The light flashes yellow on Edgewood but red on Dwight, every time it breaks. There's two issues with this. One is that not everyone knows/heeds the flashing red (which means STOP), and they just blow through it. Yellow does not mean stop at all (it just means caution), so they hit the person on the yellow (Edgewood) side.

    2. This intersection has bad visibility, hence why the signal is there in the first place. In at least one instance, even when the person on the red side stopped, and the person on yellow slowed down, they cannot see one another easily. So, if the person on the red side moves, and yellow doesn't see them, it results in a crash.

Not only is this pretty dangerous, it's also resulting in a TON of honking every time there is nearly an accident, which disturbs everyone.

  • Livingston St & Willow St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East Rock
The sensor at the light seems not to work here. Whenever I approach the intersection coming from the south on Livingston, I sit here forever and the light just filters between green on Willow, then walk signs all over, then back to a green on Willow. I see plenty of people eventually running the light because they don't have another option. I called the Dept. of Transportation's Traffic and Parking Department, who said they'd look into it, but the same problem is still happening.
  • 300 Humphrey St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - SOHU

Still think the house needs to "untackify" the Halloween displays. I'm all for decorations but......
    1. Very early for Halloween
    2. They're pretty tasteless

I'm sure the owners mean well but it just doesn't fit in the great Goatville neighborhood.....house would fit in better somewhere else

  • Humphrey St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Mill River
Please remove the trespassing homeless encampment here again. All the individuals that were previously talked to simply waited at the park until the city left and then started moving back into the underpass. Saw both gentlemen drunk, shouting, and using the bathroom on the street this morning. The drunk fist fighting for locations in the underpass between them is constant. They fight for locations here because they panhandle at the on ramp to the freeway. Surely they can be arrested for trespassing at this point. The underpass is state property.
