Grass Height Complaint Form

Please Note: The grass ordinance does not apply to residential lots over 1/2 acre (21,780 square feet). It also takes up to 30 days or more before the grass can be cut on properties in violation of the ordinance. This is because property owners must be given legal notice before the county can take action.

Submit complaints about grass along roads or in medians to the Virginia Department of Transportation. They are responsible for cutting the grass along roads.

The street light that had previously lit this crosswalk was knocked down some time ago and still lies in the bushes on the side of the road. The lack of light, combined with the speed of the vehicles exiting 66 makes this a dangerous pedestrian area.

The right turn only lane causes near-accidents (and actual accidents) every day. People don't understand that the turn lane ends before the exit for 495, so they move over and then find themselves trying to merge back into traffic to take the exit. Worse yet, many people don't notice that it's a right turn only lane (onto Magarity), and just keep moving forward, leaving people in the middle lane to scramble to accommodate them lest their cars suffer damage. This is a terrible intersection and needs to be fixed -- I'd suggest extending the right turn only lane beyond the intersection to the 495 exit, because that's what people expect. As it stands, you have a lane shift and a lane ending, and it's unnatural and counterintuitive.
