I am contacting the Mayor himself....our residential streets are full of broken garbage cans, cans left out for weeks at a time. trash put on curbs after the garbage scheduled days. When I visit other neighborhoods on the out skirts of detroit, you don't see this problem, because neighboring cities report anything that is causing blight in their communites and surrounding cities ie., harperwoods, eastpointe, grosse pointe, st clair shores. Tax payers have paid for garbage cans year after
year. The garbage cans themselves are a part of the inner city blight. you say take pictures....it ain't enough time and cameras to do what a city inspector should be doing each week. It's so bad on my street(Britain)/Mckinney/King Richard/Cadieux, they park in front of the fire hydrants, clean space kept by homeowners. People even park on their front lawns to avoid destroyed cans and illegal
dumping on the residential streets. it breeds scavenger cats, rats, dogs.
The garbage service should be surveying these areas and reporting back to the city of Detroit to enforce the ordinances. Is the job just to pick up trash while beating the already destroyed cans to a complete junk pile.
what is happening Mayor Duggan. Trash and Bulk pick up is a joke for these contractors and renters. Are we just concentrating on empowerment zones in Detroit???? I want to here back from Mr. Mayor.
Please do not ignore my plea for help in the 48224 area. This is bad. Snow will catch this debris and filth. The cats are the new predators because of open destroyed cans and need for food.
