Improper Storage Open1139 W K St Benicia, California, 94510 - BeniciaThis house on W. K St. has damaged surfboards all over the yard as “decoration” and it makes the neighborhood look awful. It’s the messiest house on the block. You can see inside the windows that it’s hoarded to the roof downstairs and upstairs. This house is a MAJOR FIRE HAZARD to the community.
As for the surfboards, they deteriorate and flake off fiberglass, paint, foam and toxic chemicals into the ground and surrounding air creating a possible issue for those walking by. -
Streets Archived507 Sargent Ct Benicia, CA, 94510, USA - BeniciaSargent Ct is severe need of resurfacing. As shown in the attached photos the asphalt is severely cracked. It’s to the point where chunks of asphalt are coming loose. This last winter the street needed a pothole filled at the bottom of the court due to chunks of asphalt breaking loose. I have lived in this court for 27 years and have seen other streets is lesser need of repair being resurfaced. Another court in the neighborhood has been resurfaced at least 2 times in the last 20 years whereas Sargent Ct has been passed over. Sargent Ct needs repair now.

Signs ArchivedSouthampton Rd Benicia, CA, 94510, USA - Benicia10 minutes ago I was nearly killed here due to the lack of a stop sign. Every day me and many others walk home from BHS and use this crosswalk, but some people simply don’t stop and just blaze by even when they see someone in the process of walking. I have heard many people complain about it. Today as always I was walking home and needed to cross the crosswalk from the side right next to Hastings to the other side closest to club pacifica. I looked and no cars were in sight so I started crossing. Then a black SUV came going maybe 10 miles over the speed limit. They saw me clearly crossing and instead of breaking chose to speed up and honk at me 3 times. There were 3 kids on the other side of the street next to club pacifica that saw it and agreed with me that I almost died because he wasn’t expecting to have to slow down. They told me that they had all also had problems with crossing this crosswalk and people not stopping. We all agree that it would be a lot safer and make it a lot easier for students to walk home if you could please install a stop sign for cars coming from both sides on Southampton. There is already a stop signal on the road for cars making the turn off of Hastings.

Signs Archived153 W E St Benicia, California, 94510 - BeniciaThe "Caution - Shoreline Path Closure" Sign had fallen onto the ground by the benches so no one will see the notification of upcoming path closure. I put it in the shrubbery in front of the Shorelight Inn so that it wouldn't blow into the water. It needs to be re-attached to whatever it was and in a secure manner because this area is extremely windy.

Streets OpenW 5th St & Military W Benicia, CA, 94510, USA - Benicia
I am writing to formally report a significant safety hazard resulting from what appears to be a flawed and dangerous design in the public right-of-way. I recently sustained damage to a brand new tire after encountering this obstruction, which is virtually invisible due to its identical coloring to the surrounding sidewalk. This lack of visibility, combined with its placement in an active roadway, presents an unreasonable and unsafe condition for motorists.
It is evident that this design flaw is not isolated to a single location but is present in multiple areas throughout the city. The frequency and extent of visible damage from passing vehicles further demonstrate that this is a recurring and systemic issue. It is only a matter of time before someone suffers more than just property damage—serious injury is a foreseeable consequence if this hazard is not addressed immediately.
Given that the design change is relatively recent, the city has had ample opportunity to observe the damage and complaints generated by this feature. Continuing to ignore these warnings may constitute negligence. I urge the city to take immediate corrective action—either by removing the hazard entirely or by installing clearly visible, raised signage to warn drivers.
I fully intend to submit a claim to the city for the damage incurred to my vehicle, and I strongly encourage a comprehensive review of similar installations throughout the municipality to prevent further harm to residents and visitors alike.

Lighting & Signage ArchivedE 3rd St & Military E Benicia, CA, 94510, USA - Benicia
I am hoping to start the process of getting a stop sign installed on Military East at E 3rd, thus making that intersection have a 4-way stop sign.
As you might know, a car crashed into the children's daycare that is located on that corner just a few weeks ago. I myself was almost hit by a car this summer that ran the stop sign at 3rd, just barely missing where my daughter was sitting in the back seat. Neighbors of this area all have a story to tell of crashes or near misses that happen consistently in this intersection.
With the community center, library, post office, police station, First Street, and baseball fields all being located within this part of town, the traffic at this intersection is heavy.
We all see how distracted drivers are these days, and it seems to be getting worse and worse as the days pass. I believe that installing a stop sign on both directions of Military E at 3rd will be a helpful way to slow down traffic and keep us all a little more safe on the road.
Thank you for your time & consideration.

1382 W 5th St Benicia, CA, 94510, USA - BeniciaThere several dead trees located in a neighbors yard. One of the trees has fallen and the stump is in the neighbors yard behad their fence, however the main portion has fallen over their fence and is now thretenting to block our common area alley to the resident's garages. This will affect 2 of the 6 homes behind propert owning the fallen tree. If the tree falls any further it will be blocking the alley way to our garages completely, not to mention possibly causing damage to vehicles if it were to fall while someone was driving out the alley.
