How can this fence be located so close to the property boundary?
  • 240 20th Ave S Saint Petersburg, Florida, 33705 - Old Southeast Neighborhood Association
This sidewalk was damaged by a large uprooted tree which was caused by the recent hurricanes. This had been reported previously but I was told the stump would need to be removed before the repair could be done. The stump is now removed. Please proceed with the repair as this is hazardous situation for pedestrians. Thank you!

Garbage bins and recycling bins have migrated 10-15’ from by the utility pole to the driveway. I’ve moved them back when empty because sometimes they are placed so close to gate we can’t open it to get out - but they keep moving because driver starts forward progress before bins are placed. Originally recycle bins were on west side of pole and trash bins east side.

For years now, I have been putting in ticket requests.Since the city has taken away our drainage and our curves. nothing is being done and now, here we are coming into a new hurricane season with one more time of no curbs. the city has admitted guilt many times over this. please send somebody out to meet with me again. So we can come up with a resolution of how we are going to get floodwaters to not boil up on my street, and instead drain down the street to where it is supposed to be.

This is a follow up on the previous request from 7/10/24 (ticket #17012748) regarding pool safety concerns at 165 22nd Ave SE.

The property still lacks a proper barrier around the the pool. The new section of fencing does not appear to meet the required 48" height, is not structurally stable, has a noticeable gap between the fence and the house on the left side, and the gate is continuously left open. These issues carry a significant safety risk, especially for children in the area.

As a parent of an autistic child, I need to emphasize that thiscomplaint is not just a simple inconvenienc, or meant to be excessively demanding towards our neighborse—it's a serious safety concern. Statistically, children with autism are 160 times more likely to drown than neurotypical children. This is because many children with autism have a tendency to elope, or wander away from a safe environment, sometimes without warning. This can occur even in families like mine, who are incredibly vigilant.

Drowning is one of the leading causes of death for children with autism. Studies show that 49% of autistic children will elope from a safe environment at some point, and tragically, 91% of deaths among these children are caused by drowning. These statistics are deeply concerning, and underscore why it’s so important that the fencing around pools meets safety standards and are fully secure.

I do not expect households who do not experience the same challenges to fully understand, but I hope that by sharing these facts, it becomes clear how vital it is that this issue is addressed. This is a matter of life and death for families like mine, and the situation continues to pose a risk.

FEMA completed an inspection which determined the home is uninhabitable. The inspection included extensive a list of repairs the building is needing that include HVAC, water heater, stairs, water damage, mold, plumbing, windows, electrical, flooring, building structure (floors, roof, walls). The yard has junk (trailer, miscellaneous automobile parts). The building, mainly apartment 2 smells of unsanitary human wastes (urine).

My water bill usage was very much over my usual use. I checked my water meter and saw where there was so much soil covering the meter that there was no way for the meter to be read. So my bill was charged for 3,300 gallons..a very high amount for my household. How can I be charged if the meter was not read? The meter is cleaned out, labeled and easily accessible from the street. I need the meter re-read or a water bill adjustment and in the future NO ESTIMATING. Read the meter.

The 106 22nd Ave SE property hosts 6-8 vehicles daily on 22nd Ave SE and 1st St SE. The issue is worse at night (they also stay overnight). At least two stretch vans are now part of this mix. Today, I saw at least seven individuals exit one of the stretch vans and enter the residence.
The residence is now hosting an unregistered drug rehab facility that fails permissible use zoning regulations, including the number of allowed occupants, required buffer zone, etc. The excessive parking problem also blocks the 22nd Ave SE sightline from 1st St SE, nearly causing two accidents in the last week. With at least four children under ten living within a bloc of this house, the Old Southeast Neighbor Association is receiving complaints from many residents.
