The attached ticket about the Burlington canal should be re-opened. The Burlington canal is NOT free of vegetation or debris along its ENTIRE length. The City asserts that it cleared the mouth of the canal at 58th St N on 9/20/24. Fine but too late. First flood to destroy Live Oaks was on 9/4/24 from a thunderstorm. As long as debris and vegetation continue to fill up the length of the canal another blockage is just a matter of time. Is the Burlington canal there for storm water mitiigation or as a nature park?
Clear out the canal now, not next October when it likely will be hopelessly blocked again on the eve of another hurricane or even a big thunderstorm like on 9/4/24 and it will be too late. St Petersburg Sanitation and Water Resources Departments need to plan and move now.
Mayor's Office: Forget the Rays for a moment, please. Keep your eye on the right ball and address the future of West St. Pete when it comes to flood water prevention - including the flood waters flowing uncontrolled down from 49th St which endanger hundreds of homes "downstream" in an area of the City NOT IDENTIFIED BY FEMA AS A FLOOD ZONE.
Thanks.

This is starting to become a REAL issue. When does the city finally decide to take care of this lot? It’s been mentioned several times that this lot has been abused ever since the house was torn down. People just litter, and the waste management crew doesn't care about what's happening in the neighborhoods.
This is starting to get frustrating, and it makes the city seem like it just doesn't care.
Please take care of this.

Water Systems Issues Archived5501 3rd Ave N Saint Petersburg, Florida, 33710 - Live Oak Neighborhood AssociationRe 17761547 - I believe they determined it was not a sewer leak but it is a water leak. They placed a barrier on the road over the area. It continues to leak. The area has also become depressed. I just want to make sure there is additional follow up by the water dept. Thanks.

Codes Compliance Acknowledged5609 Dartmouth Ave N St Petersburg, FL, 33710, USA - Live Oak Neighborhood AssociationFor the past several months there has been a Done Rite Hauling dumpster parked in front of 5609 Dartmouth Ave. N., just like it has been (off-and-on) for the past 3 years. Sometimes there are two dumpsters. The homeowner is an inconsiderate repeat offender who's been cited and fined for his dumpster violations numerous times in the past, but he doesn't know how to exist in civilized society and continues to game the system. Complaints made to the City usually take months to resolve, and shortly after each complaint is closed the homeowner brings his garbage back into the neighborhood. The dumpsters are always full of trash, an eyesore, and a health hazard. The neighbors are fed up and want a permanent fix now, whether civilly or criminally. We should not have to pay property taxes if we're being forced to live in a literal dump.
