Notified About

  • Richard Arrington Jr Blvd N & Richard Arrington Jr Blvd S Birmingham, AL, 35203, USA - Birmingham

The 21st Street bridge, connecting the North Side of Birmingham to the South Side of Birmingham has been closed to traffic for 1,278 days.

There are no signs that The City which has millions of dollars at its disposal for 'weed abatement' has made any actual effort towards replacing this bridge. The planning, feasibility studies and all of the other excuse-making delays should have already been done years ago - ahead of the bridge's deterioration to the extent that it needed to be closed to traffic. This is a failure of what the City of Birmingham likes to pat itself on the back for as "leadership". This failureship, not leadership.

  • 1700 Second Ave S Birmingham AL 35233, United States - Birmingham
At least 3 times a week the residents who live near Railroad Park on 1st Ave are terrorized between the times of 10pm to 2am. Cars with no mufflers are racing up and down the streets. Motorcycles are doing donuts at intersections squealing tires for over 15 minutes. Many residents have animals and are afraid to be on the street after 9pm for fear of being struck when crossing the road. This has happened consistently every week since September. This has gone on for so long it's making the city look completely incapable.

  • 512 Avenue V Birmingham, Alabama, 35214 - Birmingham
I have lived in my home since 1976 when it was first built. My neighbors and I were told to leave 6 feet of our property for the city to put an alley between our properties and the properties on the next street. It is now 2025, 49 years later, and the city still hasn't provided the alley that was promised. I contacted the city in 2011 when the storm caused trees in the overgrown "alley " to fall and damaged my fence. The operator responded, the city doesn't own the alley and it's not the city's responsibility. So 49 years later, the overgrown "alley" is nothing less than a jungle running between our houses and the houses on the next street. It is a breeding place for all kinds of wildlife, including snakes and a depreciation to the value of our properties. Also, we cannot access our backyards because of the jungle that is supposed to be an alley. I am requesting that the city cleanup the "alley" and get it paved so it can be the alley that was promised when our houses were built in 1976.
