This dog park needs to be remodeled and upgraded for the sake of the neighborhood puppies & adult dogs. Turf ground is more cleaner and easier & better on the dogs paws and fur. When I visit this dog park I have to bath my dog’s. My dog’s fur is white but every time I visit this park their fur turns gray and dirty and theirs paws will be full of dirt and gravel. Also they need at least one dog activity in the area. I have taken several pictures of all the defects holes on the gate between and aro

  • 349 Communipaw Ave Jersey City 07304, United States - Bergen-Lafayette
Someone ran over this Citibike, please remove or fix.
  • 1st St & Brunswick St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
The crosswalk marking at first and Brunswick is completely erased. It is incredibly unsafe for pedestrians because cars do not stop when pedestrians are in the crosswalk, as they are rushing to make the light at Columbus. This intersection needs a stop sign.
  • Monticello Ave & Emory St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07304 - McGinley Square
This intersection is becoming increasingly dangerous for pedestrians. I urge the city to perform a traffic study between the hours of 7AM-9AM on weekdays. Before the school traffic starts to build up, the road is like a race track, with cars speeding through, mostly coming from Communipaw. It is impossible to get any car to stop at the crossings during this hour. When kids are crossing during the 8AM hour, the crossing guard does an amazing job here, but traffic needs to be slowed down overall. After seeing the success of traffic calming at the other end of Monticello, I would suggest a stop sign before Emory (coming from Communipaw side) and before Astor Place (coming from Montgomery side). Downtown has stop signs at almost every intersection! Let's please have some speed control on this road before someone is seriously hurt in this busy school zone.
  • Barrow St & Christopher Columbus Dr Jersey City, New Jersey, 07302 - Downtown
The whole street is closed to pedestrians with no notice posted or police signs posted
  • Christopher Columbus Dr & Washington St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - The Waterfront
The issue is with the intersection right by the PS16 elementary school annex building. Please consider adding traffic guards to this intersection during school drop off and pickup time, and enforce parking regulations. It’s a very unsafe intersection for both kids and parents due to the high volume of car and bike traffic, both ignoring speed limits and traffic lights. In addition, there are always cars being parked illegally close to the pedestrian crossing, blocking road visibility for pedestrians. There have already been multiple incidents of hitting/almost hitting of kids at this intersection. The last one happened just today, where a child was hit by a bike driver. This whole situation is extremely dangerous and would unavoidable lead to serious consequences. Thanks!

  • Barrow St & Bright St Jersey City, NJ, 07302, USA - Downtown
Can we please put a stop sign on all sides of this intersection? The view can be a little obstructed when turning onto barrow here when there may be oncoming traffic. Thanks
  • Driveways Archived
162 Bowers St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights
This is a 1 car driveway which the owner of the property cut the gate on his property and converted the driveway into a 2 car driveway. Which in the process took away a parking spot on the street. Not only that one of the tenants on the property parks his 2 cars in front of the driveway so they made where they have 4 parking spots in front of there property because people are afraid of parking there believing that they will get a ticket for illegal parking which
isn't true. The owner should have to put the fence back and make it a 1 car parking spot lime it always was. To allow people who don't have driveway park on public street parking and not lose a spot especially with the bad parking situation in jersey city
  • Central Ave & Ferry St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07307 - The Heights
The crosswalk should be moved from directly in front of the church which is also where cars make the left turn on to Ferry St off Central to directly in front of palisade Pups. It’s approximately 25 feet away from where it is now but I think it would be much safer for pedestrians to cross on to that side of Ferry. In order to make the left turn you need to drive over the cross walk. Some drivers behind are inpatient and don’t want to wait and they whip around on the right side to pass which is very dangerous if someone has come in to the crosswalk.

VIOLATION: Failure to Provide Local, Empowered Emergency Contact

    Date/Day: 2025-05-17

    Unique ID: [155 Washington-EmergencyContact-2025-05-17]

155 Washington Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302
    Units: 295

    Max Daily Penalty: $2,000 × 295 units = $590,000
    (PER UNIT PER DAY; JC § 1-25, N.J.A.C. 5:10-1.11(c)(17)-(19), § 260-2(F), N.J.S.A. 46:8-28)

    --Details--
The landlord has failed to provide a local, empowered emergency contact for this building as required by N.J.A.C. 5:10-1.11(c)(17)-(19) and Jersey City Code § 260-2(F).
Emergency contact information posted and recorded in the DCA registration is either missing, incomplete, or connects tenants to an out-of-state or offshore call center, not to a qualified individual with authority and capacity to make emergency decisions on-site, as required by law.
Each tenant is independently entitled by law to reach a local, authorized emergency contact at any time. The ongoing failure to provide this deprives every tenant of legal protection, immediate emergency recourse, and basic safety—making this a distinct daily violation for each occupied unit, and no abatement is possible until full compliance is verified for all units.
This violation is distinct and independent from other registration or superintendent issues—the fine here is triggered solely by the lack of a proper emergency contact for each occupied unit, every day.

    --Legal Impact--
N.J.A.C. 5:10-1.11(c)(17)-(19): Requires an empowered, local emergency representative to be named and reachable for every building, with complete contact info; each omission is a daily violation.
JC § 1-25: Each tenant (or unit, as a conservative baseline) without a valid emergency contact is entitled to a separate fine for each day the violation persists.
Vacant units must be reported: Under local code (including JC § 260-2(F)(1)(c)-(d) and registration requirements), all vacant units must be reported by the landlord. If not reported, the minimum legal assumption is that every unit is occupied, and thus every unit is subject to a daily fine.
If a unit is not actually occupied but not reported vacant, this is a separate independent violation, each triggering its own $2,000 fine per day. Therefore, $2,000 per unit per day is the minimum penalty applicable in all cases.
N.J.S.A. 46:8-28: Landlord must file an amended certificate within 20 days of any change in emergency contact info; each failure to amend is a separate violation.
JC § 260-14(A): Absence of an empowered emergency contact is a reduction of required services, entitling each tenant to rent reduction.
Ongoing violation constitutes a public nuisance (§ 1-25(C)), with penalties accruing daily.
Willful noncompliance after notice triggers maximum penalty and possible additional civil/criminal referral.

    --Relief Demanded--
Immediate city and DCA inspection, citation, and enforcement for failure to provide a local, empowered emergency contact
Maximum daily penalties imposed PER UNIT (minimum; subject to upward revision if additional unreported tenancy discovered)
Immediate filing, posting, and tenant service of legally compliant, empowered emergency contact information
Written confirmation and notification to all tenants and the city upon correction

    --Note--
No empowered emergency contact is present or reachable as required by law. No corrective action has been taken by management as of this report. Violation is ongoing and penalties continue to accrue.

  • Astor Pl & Monticello Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07304 - McGinley Square
crossing guard Sam is working against all odds to prevent an accident here. it's insane every block downtown has a stop sign or a light but Sam is fending for himself. Does the city really care that little about this side of town or are they waiting for a kid to get hit ?
