The picture attached is from another neighborhood volunteer cleanup of the park and streetscape surrounding the drug camp at this location. Over 50 used needles were collected in less than an hour before the cleanup was canceled due to the overwhelming risk of injury and serious illness from exposure to the needle waste. Despite desperate pleas from our community, the health department has yet to respond to the needle issue in this area. The Public Health Director continues to affirm that this area is being 'monitored' and 'visited often'. All of these needles have been in plain sight, some of them for weeks, and continue to go uncollected. At this point, I'm not sure how else to get the city to take this issue seriously. Please remove the drug camp located behind the fence near Jocelyn Square Park. Volunteer cleanups of this area cannot replace the services that our city should be providing. This park should be closed if the city is unwilling to make it safe for children and our community.

Went for a walk with my son on State st in back of the Ice rink along the Mill River trying to enjoy the nice day when we had to depart the area do to this hazard ! Every few steps there were needles! New Haven ! This has to stop ! TO THE HEALTH DEPT STOP GIVING OUT NEEDLES AND INABILING THESE PEOPLE ! THEY DONT WANT HELP AND THEY DO NOT CARE WHERE THEY THROW THEIR NEEDLES WHEN THEY ARE DONE ! HEALTH DIRECTOR DO YOU CARE ABOUT NEW HAVEN AND THE ENVIRONMENT? Man hole is protruding due to the road being badly cracked and not paved. There is also pot holes and the road is uneven. This section of the road is a traffic hazard because cars stop abruptly to not hit the man hole cover, pot holes, and the uneven nature of the road. The fact that this road has not been fixed is pathetic and a major disregard for public safety.

A yellow sign with black text is hanging near Sam's Mart offering free Internet to people that have EBT and Medicaid, plus a phone number to call to get it. I could not find any other category to post this than "signs," unless this request should go in "graffiti," because it's technically "blight," and frankly quite scammy. These signs keep appearing, decade after decade, all around the city.

This corner of the Strong School has always collected trash, when the bus stop was there, wind etc, but in recent weeks, it has been collecting more and more trash...It also has a history of drug use, homelessness and prostitution. This feels increasingly more repulsive now that the city sidewalk is covered with trash too. Add a very strong smell of urine in that corner, along the fence. I suggest a city investigation as to where this trash and smell are coming from. That same corner is also a drop off point of school buses with children walking through every day, and close to the basketball court.
This is more than illegal trash dropping on public property, rather, an environment health concern imo. thank you for looking into this.

We live on Edgewood Avenue, near Winthrop. We arrived home a short while ago to witness a parade of street cleaners passing our house. It was mostly a wasted effort, as the block had numerous parked cars impeding their progress. Why? NO temporary "No Parking" signs posted. NO New Haven Alerts text message. Permanent signs say cleaning begins in April. Was this just a training exercise? Did any of those parked cars get a ticket? Did anyone at City Hall coordinate this effort?

SOS! The noise is deafening coming from the backyard of this property. I called the police. The responding officer said they "could" send someone and maybe fine them for breaking a noise ordinance "but we can't stay there all day."

This is unbelievable. On a beautiful spring day, we neighbors can't have our windows open because of this atrocity!

Who can put an end to this madness?

Crosswalk is broken at all 4 corners--pushing the button does nothing. Please fix asap, someone is 100% going to get hurt. Also please restore the automatic crosswalk setting!
