  • Pavonia Ave & John F Kennedy Blvd Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square
Enforcement is needed of dangerous bike riders without lights after dark. Monday 9/8/25 I from HCC on Sip Ave. to my home on Dey St., about 9:30 pm, a distance of 8 - 9 blocks. In that time I was endangered by FIVE bike riders, wearing all dark clothing, with NO LIGHT on their bikes while also breaking traffic laws. 1 -- dark bike on Pavonia, ran fed light at JFK corner while I was crossing the street. 2 -- JFK southbound , dark bike no lights directly across the street from PATH, ran the light at Pavonia while I and others were in the crosswalk. 3 -- bike riders on sidewalk, wearing dark clothing, no lights, whizzed past me going south. 4 -- again dark bike on sidewalk, coming around the corner from Newark Ave. onto JFK south, no lights, whizzed past no lights. 5 -- Newark Ave. first block from JFK, going east, dark bike, no lights, whizzing past. Why are bikes allowed in the road with no lighting after dark? We need ENFORCEMENT.

Delineators damaged yet again I believe Mike Manzella had committed residents durable delineators at St Paul's

FYI these are being damaged by the construction trucks entering Skillman Ave for the 3075 Kennedy/AC Chevrolet towers project Do they even have approved traffic permits?

In any case, please replace these with more durable bollards that were promised to residents u

  • Pavonia Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square
the flow of traffic here is MESSED UP. cars are blocking the intersection, buses are taking shortcuts through bollards and making right turns onto pedestrians as they are crossing. there are close-calls constantly with vehicles who are driving erratically. please have all the lights turn red so pedestrians can cross safely! at the very least, eliminate right turns on red here!!!!!
  • Pavonia Ave & Summit Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square

This is a 5-way intersection where Central Ave. originates at Pavonia and Summit.

This intersection does NOT have accessible pedestrian signal (APS) pushbuttons for the visually impaired.

The 10 existing pushbuttons do NOT control the 10 pedestrian walk signals. Those are on "pedestrian recall" and operate during every traffic cycle.

There are 5 audible signals at the intersection, of which only 2 work. They are on the bottom of pedestrian signals and look like black hockey pucks. The two working signals are on the NORTHWEST and SOUTHEAST corners.

During the WALK phase for crossing Summit and Central, a voice says "Walk sign is on to cross" about 3 times and then stops. There is no audible voice for the countdown during the DON'T WALK phase. There is no audible voice for crossing Pavonia.

These outdated audible signals and the non-working old pushbuttons should be REPLACED with modern APS pushbuttons like those at:

  • 771-793 Newark Ave Jersey City, NJ, 07306, USA - Journal Square

As a courtesy, we would like to inform the community that there will be permitted construction activity starting on Tuesday, July 8th through Thursday, July 10th. Whereas, there will be NO PARKING during this activity on both sides of Newark Ave, between JFK and Liberty St. In addition, the Westbound lane will be closed between the same cross streets as mentioned above. This is to facilitate an alternating lane of traffic through the Eastbound lane, through the construction zone.

The Sidewalk will also be 100% closed along the 780 property construction zone and pedestrians must cross at the JFK Blvd. or Liberty St. crossings during this activity.

This construction zone will be mangaged by the GC and both the Jersey City Police and Traffic Plan Inc. in order to facilitate the safe operation of a Crane, in furtherance of the construction project at this location. For the safety of the community, we ask for compliance will all verbal and posted directions.

Hardcopy of permits are available upon request, to all authorities having jurisdiction.

159 Saint Pauls Ave Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - The Heights
The owner of 159 Saint Pauls Ave didn't pay a single dime to get his driveway painted. On top of that he added his own triangle markings to squeeze people out of a parking space. He bribed the people to paint his driveway with the "NO PARKING" when they had came over to paint people driveways on the list after repaving the roadway. On the list on the website (https://data.jerseycitynj.gov/explore/dataset/zoning-driveways-and-carports/table/?disjunctive.street_name&q=st+pauls&sort=street_no) you do not see 159 Saint Pauls Ave at all on it. If we the people had to pay the determination letter and the money for DPW to come out and paint it why can't we be like the person that owns 159 and get it for free. On top of that he rents out his "Driveway" to people which blocks 95% of the public right of way therefore making money off public property.

What is going on here? This used to be a cute little house. Someone ripped off all the siding, and there are holes in it, and water is flowing in and there are sink holes in the sidewalk and jagged pieces hanging off the façade. I haven’t seen anyone to work to ever so I don’t know if it’s an active site but it needs to be secured. It’s a shame to leave our neighborhood looking at this awful eye sore.

35 Cottage St Jersey City, New Jersey, 07306 - Journal Square
The contractors continue to operate an UNSAFE work site. Hazardous debris that could cause serious injury continues to fall from this tower. Adjacent residential properties have been forcibly turned into de facto hardhat zones. The developer does not own our properties, yet none of us can be outside without fear of being struck by dangerous objects (see photos for huge gaps in the barely adequate safety netting and examples of sharp, heavy tools and debris). This is blatant negligence with huge liability implications. When will the City address this with the seriousness it deserves?
