  • 211 Manning Drive Chapel Hill, North Carolina - Chapel Hill
The Pedestrian lights indicating you can cross Manning Drive are white with the man walking. However, drivers entering the intersection to make a left turn have a green light. They do not look for pedestrians, only other cars. Why can't all the auto traffic lights be red while the pedestrian lights are white? I have almost been hit 3 times at this intersection and the Paul Hardin/Manning intersection. The last time was Monday at 2:30pm. It is very dangerous for students and employees. Thanks, Ann
  • Hillsborough St & Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
The lights facing Umstead and Hillsborough are desynchronized and will display green for one side and red on the other confusing left turning traffic as they wait to yield for traffic that doesn’t come.
  • 790 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd Chapel Hill NC 27514, United States - Chapel Hill
The light sequence is all messed up for people taking a left off of Hillsborough or a left off of Umstead The lights should have arrows to alert people turning left that they have the right of way As it is, no one knows what to do and its a mess
  • 215 Henderson St Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
As you can see, parked cars block sight lines of drivers at stop sign at North St/Henderson St intersction. This is an extremely dangerous intersection. Two parking spaces nearest the intersection need to be removed to provide safe visibility. Cars and scooters approach on Henderson at high speeds and cut the corner. They are often impossible to see due to parked cars.
  • Piney Mountain Rd Chapel Hill NC 27514, United States - Chapel Hill
Please install a flashing light and cautionary signage at our crosswalk. School children crossing Piney Mountain Road in the dark morning hours are at risk by drivers who exceed the new lower posted speed limit.
  • 313 N Estes Dr Chapel Hill, NC, 27514, USA - Chapel Hill
There is large, long-term construction project happening on N. Estes Drive in the walk zone for 2 public schools. The cones & orange netting that attempt to provide a safe walkway for kids and parents are not being maintained by the construction crew. These cones and netting need to be kept in place as some attempt to provide for safe passage of kids entering Estes Hills Elementary School. The traffic light at Estes/Caswell is the particular location. There is no longer any barrier between opposing traffic on Caswell waiting to turn left onto N. Estes Drive. I myself and other neighbors have been attempting to maintain this area but that is not reasonable or appropriate for a parent with a young child while already dodging confused traffic.
  • 703 Pinehurst Dr Chapel Hill 27517, United States - Chapel Hill
This intersection needs a pedestrian crosswalk street marking and sign. Cars do not slow down
  • 1101 Environ Way Chapel Hill NC 27517, United States - Chapel Hill
Bike path blocked with dangerous items that could cause trip and fall hazards after dark.
  • Pothole Archived
Cameron Ave & Ransom St Chapel Hill, North Carolina - Chapel Hill
There is a pothole and eroding pavement in the middle of the bikelane on eastbound Cameron Ave. Thousands (yes, thousands, I couldn't believe that figure either) of cyclists use this bike lane everyday, and this pothole causes cyclists to swerve into the vehicular lane. This is especially dangerous during morning commute. Please provide equitable road repair and fill this in. Thanks!
  • 218 Vance St Chapel Hill, NC 27516, USA - Chapel Hill
Violation of Chapel Hill's Land Use Management Ordinance is resulting in cars blocking sidewalk, causing blockage and possible safety hazard to passing pedestrians and bikers. Current parking configuration violates town LUMO, which restricts parking and drive areas to 40 percent of the front yard area and requires that the area be covered with all-weather surface or gravel.
  • 101–111 Sage Rd Chapel Hill NC 27514, United States - Chapel Hill
There are very nice bike lanes on Sage Road and on Old Durham Road However, the intersection at US 15-501 heading north is subpar The bike lane does not continue across the intersection and both cars and bikes are confused about how to behave. The first car will generally jump ahead, and it often is tricky for a bicycle to find a way to merge into traffic. Recommend adding a bike box in front of the through lane at the intersection to improve bicycTidy safety and comfort along this missing link of what is otherwise a continuous bike lane from Homestead Road to Garrett Road in Durham

Pretty sure we are a full year-ish into the sidewalk closures on Rosemary. ToCH has demonstrated a complete lack of concern for pedestrian safety in deference to the Samet Corporation construction project on Rosemary. Why would the Town consider it appropriate to long-term remove pedestrian walkways and shoulder lanes Rosemary between Henderson and Columbia? Why isn't Samet Corp responsible to create a safe pedestrian passageway during this insanely long construction project? Does ToCH just not care? Are we seriously looking at years of this sidewalk closure creating a pedestrian car crash death funnel?
My specific request at this time is, please clean up the best alternate pedestrian route: the alley behind the brick parking structure. The alley is full of litter and loose trash, covered in broken glass, mysterious drainwater puddles even when it hasn't rained in days, and it's pitch black at night. Lack of upkeep and lighting is turning this lovely alley into a major health & safety hazard.
