Notified About

  • 35 S Partition St Saugerties, NY 12477, USA - Saugerties
We have invested in "no smoking on our playgrounds" billboards, can't we have a sign at the beach? It's a playground and children's play area, and these bums are there smoking in our kids' faces.
  • Main Street Saugerties, NY 12477, USA - Saugerties
Someone keeps stealing the handicapped parking sign in front of the bank, next to Smith's Hardware. The village will not paint a blue box with a wheelchair on the ground and it takes many months for the sign to be replaced. They don't look at the tapes from the bank to see who keeps stealing these signs either. The disabled cannot shop in town, cannot pick up their medication or their food or do their banking because there is no where to park many times. Why is the village so uncaring? What is the big deal about painting a handicapped wheelchair on the ground. As is, there aren't enough handicapped parking spaces.
  • Montgomery St Saugerties, NY - Saugerties

Russell St., Post St., Clermont St., and Montgomery St. should be changed to One-Way streets.

    They should be alternating One-Ways:

Russell and Clermont should be one-way TOWARDS 9W, and Post and Montgomery should be one-way AWAY from 9W (only until they hit Washington Ave.)

These streets are too narrow anyway, especially with the myriad of cars parked there, blocking the pathway of vehicles traveling through this area.

Division St. was just recently made a One-Way, why can't the other streets in this crowded, densely populated section of town?

  • 4 High Street Saugerties, NY 12477, USA - Saugerties
Why don't they put lines in the parking lot so people know where to park.
  • 54 Partition St Saugerties, NY - Saugerties

Route 9W through Saugerties is already completely choked with traffic.

Was there no traffic study done to assess the impact of building a multi-million dollar hotel and conference center at this location?

Why were no improvements made to the Route 9W corridor in this area? The ancient bridge over the Esopus can barely handle the amount of traffic already going over it! And now there is going to be more?

What about the gridlock that takes place at the corner of Main St. and Partition St.?!?! It is going to be 10 times worse with this new hotel and conference center.

  • 217 Main St Saugerties, NY 12477, USA - Saugerties
After the 4th of july lineup the local bars are opened up to allow the fire departments in to get drunk. Some of these men are driving the trucks in the parade DRUNK. After they have drinks at places like the exchange and the dutch tavern they take alcohol to saugerties high school and continue this embarrassing routine. So the line up is at 8 a.m. and the bars are pouring drinks shortly afterward...
  • 43 Montgomery St - Saugerties
Try driving up or down Montgomery St with the children playing football and just hanging in the street. They dont readily move out of the way of cars. This is dangerous for them and drivers. This is a busy street with drivers avoiding the Main/Partition St traffic lights, and Diaz Ambulance using this route daily too. Ive experienced them not moving out of the way of a neighbors car so that the neighbor can get in and out of the driveway. They have no regard for other peoples property, hitting houses and cars with the ball, they just go about their business like nothing happened. Need more police vehicles up and down to keep them out of the road. They have a back yard...why not use it, or go to the park to play.
  • 215 U.S. 9w Saugerties, NY 12477, USA - Saugerties

When turning left from Main St. westbound onto Partition St. southbound, traffic at this intersection is so bad during rush hours that sometimes it takes 3 or 4 cycles of this traffic light before motorists can complete the turn.

The current situation there is unacceptable. As a heavily-traveled corridor, simply adding a left-turn green arrow on the traffic light would help to ease congestion at this extremely busy intersection, and allow motorists safer passage by better controlling traffic patterns.

  • Clermont Lane Saugerties, NY - Saugerties
    Danger and illegal parking
  • 51 Livingston St Saugerties, NY 12477, USA - Saugerties
This house has been abandoned for a number of years and not only is an eyesore but poses a fire threat. It is extremely close to neighboring buildings (inches away from one) and now has a huge pile of brush and tree limbs piled directly in back of it. Complaints have been made in the past to the village but nothing ever seems to happen...
  • Washington Ave & Center St Saugerties, NY - Saugerties

Obviously no one who planned out the library, gave a darn about the handicapped! They put the handicapped parking in the lot at the far end of the library, the farthest one could walk and still be on the block!! What is wrong with these people?

When someone complained to them about it they said it was too expensive to do. Too expensive? Then don't build the library in the first place if you can't abide by Federal law, not to mention compassion.

For a handicapped person, walking to the parking lot with heavy books, especially in bad weather is a burden. Parking in front would make sense but after a request was put in, the town put up a sign saying it was a drop off section and there was no parking. Of course people still park there and how many cars do they think are dropping off at one time? It's a cheap shot at avoiding accountability. SHAME ON SAUGERTIES GOVT!

  • Main Street SAUGERTIES, NY - Saugerties
WE DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH HANDICAPPED PARKING TO BEGIN WITH AND NOW THE VILLAGE OF SAUGERTIES HAS REMOVED ONE OF THE SPOTS ON MAIN STREET. THAT LEAVES JUST ONE FOR THE ENTIRE STREET. NOT ENOUGH. APPARENTLY PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT HANDICAPPED AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE HANDICAPPED DID THIS. SHAME ON THE VILLAGE OF SAUGERTIES FOR REMOVING A MUCH NEEDED HANDICAPPED SPOT.
