Connecticut Residents - Sandy Issues

There are several broken park benches in Wooster Sq. Park, which have been there since Sandy blew through. It seems that they should have been picked up for repairs by now as they really are hazardous.

The city received federal funding to repair damage from hurricane sandy. Can the city please repair the wash out in the Quinnipiac river park that was damaged in the storm??

Bennett street is a mixed zone street with both commercial and residential buildings. The complete lack of regard for the neighborhood by the Electric Maintenance Company needs to be addressed. This decrepit mess of a building is directly affecting the property value and general quality of the neighborhood for it's surrounding residential neighbors. There is a constant litter problem from it's customers. During hurricane Sandy a section of the fence was destroyed, Leaving a huge gap that's been filled with piled trash which is in the direct view of the Condo building across the street. The parking lot is full of trash and litter. The wall and gate both have grafitti that has not been removed and the fence has a huge tear in it. Also, the sidewalk in front of the building is covered with debris left over from snow cleanup after the blizzard.

the sidewalk is lifted 2/3 feet in the air inf ront of a home of a handicapped woman.It has been this way since Super storm sandy. Why could this go on so long like 2 and half months?

The large mature tree on the tree belt in front of 449 Central Avenue (not sure of the variety) has with numerous dead branches and lichen and other rot growing on it.
(A stiff breeze tends to bring down small branches).

We have been lucky so far in that neither Irene nor Sandy brought the tree down.

What do I need to do to request that it either be trimmed to root out dead branches and remove branches hanging over the wires to our house.

Or preferably to have it removed. I would love to simply have it removed and then request a replacement tree through the URI/City planting program. I am happy to care for a young healthy tree. The existing one seems very close to the end of its life

In fact there are three trees in front of my house, the next door neighbor and the house two doors down. They are all the same type and all are old and lichen covered.

My neighbors at 453 say the trees were planted about 60 years ago sometime when they were kids.

Please let me know what can be done as either interim or long term measures.

Hope this could be used as precautions with surrounding trees and exposed windows.

Fence blocking off damaged portion of sidewalk/sea wall has been cut and pulled open allowing people to get past the gate and onto the damaged sidewalks. This is a major safety issue. When is the fence, and ultimately the park sidewalk/sea wall ever going to get repaired. It has been like this since Sandy!

we have a tree stump left from storm Sandy. We initially had two trees that went down on our house and were w/out power for 8-9 days. We have now repaired all the damage to our house, but the sidewalk and street heaved where the tree went down and has been ignored since. It is UGLY and unsafe for walkers.

There is a sunken boat on the bottom of the Quinnipiac river. This boat was tied to a private dock during superstorm sandy and has since been carried out into the main channel of the river by subsequent high tides. The boat is currently completely submerged and has been marked by the coastguard with a buoey. What is the process/ time period for getting this boat removed? Pictures of the boat as it sat when tied to the dock are attached.

For the past year, even when it is a moderate rain, water overflows in my basement from a disconnected toilet. I called the plumber and he said it was because the street storm drains needed cleaning. I reported this several months ago.

As soon as the rain even begn with Hurricane Sandy, the toilet overflowed at such a high rate that it was impossible to keep up with and as a result my basement flooded and I lost a fair amount of personal items (since my husband's death I live alone and so there was no one to help me).

I recognize that given the damage caused by the storm this is not exactly a high priority, but could it please be taken care of as soon as time permits so that the next rainfall we have should not present the same problem?
