Chestnut Street And 4th Avenue Nashville, TN - SouthsideTonight as I was coming towards 2nd Ave on Chestnut I came upon the train stopped on the tracks (this happens often enough for me not to be surprised). Rather than going around this time, I decided to wait and see how long the train would block Chestnut. I waited from 8:35 to 9:07PM at the train tracks to get through. During that time the train came to a FULL stop ....TWICE. Keep in mind that the train was fully stopped when I got there at 8:35 so I have no idea how long it was stopped prior. This is not just my experience. Two other neighbors have told me they experience these long delays frequently on their way to work so this is not an isolated incident. A quick search on See Click Fix will also show that I'm not alone in my frustration. There are other neighborhoods that this train passes through and causes the same long delays. I would have to think that this also is a safety concern for neighborhoods as law enforcement and ambulance traffic are impeded by the train as well. Public transportation is also blocked as there is no way for a bus to turn around at this location when the train is stopped.

4th Ave S & Chestnut Nashville, TN - SouthsideThe past 3 mornings, between 6:40 am and 7, slow moving long trains have blocked both streets for more than 15 minutes. I thought there was a "law" about how long they could block the road way. This is ridiculous, at rush time!!!

1074 B 2nd Ave South Nashville, TN - SouthsideWe need some serious traffic calming on 2nd Ave South and 4th Ave South. These streets are 3 lane one ways that run through a residential neighborhood and almost no one obeys the speed limits. The speed limits are 35 mph but even that is too fast for streets that have little to no barrier between the sidwalk and the traffic lane. It's made worse by being one way because there is no street parking or oncoming traffic to provide any kind of calming. People just fly down these streets at 40 to 50 mph at times and I've seen several accidents around the cross streets as a result. I would suggest in the short term lowering the speed limits to 25 to 30 and making them two lanes only with street parking. In the long term I think they should be two way streets.

Alley Lighting Open1072 2nd Ave S Nashville, TN - SouthsideThis alley is extremely dark at night and criminals use this for a lot of their activities. I have to use this alley daily to access the parking to my residence and was held up in my parking lot when several juveniles hid in the alley and jumped the fence to my parking lot. This alley could be safer if it were properly lit and not as attractive to criminals.

Overgrown Lot Archived1240 Thomas St Nashville, TN - SouthsideThis lot is owned by Metro and the grass is several feet high. You wonder how codes can fine others for overgrown lots when Metro is ignoring the laws !!

weak lane markings on road. Archived4th Ave South Downtown NASHVILLE/DAVIDSON, TN - SouthsideFrom Demonbreun St south of Broadway southbound on 4th avenue south leaving downtown, the lane marings on the road are so faint that cars do not stay in their lane. Most think there are only 2 lanes but in fact there are 3. Many close calls of cars crossing dotted lines and nearly side swiping other cars. Requesting some repainting so lines are noticable. (stopping at Lafayette & the Interstate) THANK YOU

No lines on road... Archived4th Ave South Nashville, TN - SouthsideSouthbound 4th avenue downtown from Demonbruen starting at County Music Hall of Fame. Driving south there are VERY faint and / or NO dashes on the road to seperate lanes. Drivers think there are 2 lanes when actually there are 3. Many times I see close calls of cars swiping each other. Have had to brake hard and sound horn to let other driver know to get back in their lane... Lane markings need to be repainted!!! Soon! THANK YOU in ADVANCE

Trash in Alley Archived7 Trimble Street Nashville/Davidson, TN - SouthsideThere is trash in the alley that runs behind Trimble and North Hill Streets between First Ave., So. and Lincoln Street. There are mattresses, an old trunk, old tv's, clothes and five gallon cans. This is just a few of the things I've seen there.
