Piedmont Pines Neighborhood Association

Notified About

  • Colton Blvd Oakland, California - Montclair
The intersection of Colton & Heartwood is a disaster waiting to happen. At this crossroad, only 1 direction has a stop sign. I have witnessed several near misses lately as traffic traveling up Heartwood makes a left onto Colton (there is no stop sign) and traffic going down Colton continues straight on to Colton (again no stop sign). This needs to be a 4 way stop. With the increased traffic due to the long standing closure of Snake Rd, this is a very dangerous intersection.

The whole street (Mountain Blvd) between Ascot dr and Joaquin Miller dr is some many pot holes it’s an obstacle course. This has been going on for years. Now many are marked with red. If this means these are just going to be patched again, it’s a joke. It’s been patched so many times that’s it’s just a series on bumps with holes. For gods sake just repack the full street along highway 13.
  • Antioch Ct & Mountain Blvd Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Montclair Business

The new Village Plaza in Montclair Village was designed to require cars traveling on Antioch Court to continue straight onto Mountain Blvd (north) rather than give them the option to turn left onto Mountain (south) as they were able to in the past.

However, there is currently no signage to notify drivers that left turns are not allowed. Drivers are continuing to turn left onto Mountain, posing a serious threat to pedestrians, cyclists, and other motorists.

We need to add a NO LEFT TURN sign to clarify the change in traffic requirements that came with the new plaza design.

  • 6728 Aitken Drive Oakland, California - Piedmont Pines
Large depression in middle of street that causes most cars to bottom out. Seems to be getting deeper.
  • Snake Rd & Shepherd Canyon Rd Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Shepherd Canyon
We are in need of better signage during the road work. Drivers are still misunderstanding the detour signs heading east on Snake and driving into oncoming traffic on Shepherd Canyon, rather than taking the detour up the hill on Snake. This could be remedied by either moving the road closed sign to the intersection, or adding a DO NOT enter sign at the Shepherd Canyon. Extremely dangerous conditions persist.

large crater in middle of Medau Place
  • 2734 Mountain Blvd Oakland CA 94602, United States - Piedmont Pines
Multiple potholes both sides of street needs replacing segment from ascot to Joaquin Miller
  • 2555 El Caminito Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Piedmont Pines
Something crashed into the guardrail and now the damaged guardrail is completely blocking the only safe pedestrian path on Mountain Blvd across from El Caminito. School children and families depend on this path being clear and safe so that they can walk to Joaquin Miller Elementary and Montera Middle School. Please clear the path and remove/replace the damaged guardrail before school starts in August. There are no other paths or sidewalks for children living off that section of Mountain Blvd to use to walk to school. Thank you
  • 2666 Mountain Blvd Oakland 94611, United States - Piedmont Pines
We have a dangerous tree that is hanging over the parking lot area. This is an area we block off for preschool children to play. The tree is leaning dangerously and the roots are uplifting, causing the surrounding fence and structures outside the lodge to come apart. This is a dangerous situation for us and for all the renters who rent the lodge on the weekends.
  • 2666 Mountain Blvd Oakland, California, 94611 - Piedmont Pines
A large tree branch fell from the top of this tree and broke SEVERAL more large branches on the way down. There are 6-8 large broken branches hanging over a walkway that is used for the entrance for our preschool. The branches are high up in the tree and could fall easily. We would so appreciate your help with making this area safe for children to transit to their school. Will post additional pictures in the comments.
This tree is the main tree in the front entrance of the school that has a bench at the bottom of it.

Multiple branches from two large pine trees in front of Sequoia Lodge are a hazard to all who enter/exit the building.

The worst is a new LARGE branch that broke today and nearly took out several parked cars. It hangs over one of 2 entrance/exit paths at the building, frequented by adults and children at the Sequoioa Nursery School. The other large pine tree over the other entrance/exit also has a branch that is partially broken and hanging menacingly, making it dangerous to exit and enter via either of the two pathways. There is a likelihood we will have to close the school if this is not addressed urgently.

  • 6015 Snake Rd Oakland 94611, United States - Montclair
Junk piled up in front of house with cones, boxes, trash, and broken down vehicles. Cones and trailer are encroaching into the street causing a traffic danger in addition to the house being a general eyesore.
