1768-1772 W Overton Rd Tucson, AZ, 85704, USA - Oro Valley
Taking this road on a motorcycle is dangerous. It’s so rough that it could cause a person to lose control at the posted speed limit. One of the worst paved roads in Tucson.
  • 1774-1798 W Overton Rd Tucson, AZ, 85704, USA - Oro Valley
Overton along the tight curve has VERY BAD expansion cracks. A pickup truck going at the posted speed fishtailed in front of me because it was jumping around the curve due to the roughness. This whole section needs to be milled flat and get a 2" layer of new asphalt. Either that or the road-underlayment needs to be re-done without clay and sand. Something is causing the road to buckle every season. (either ground moisture and heaving, or temperature cycles)

  • 1800-1828 W Overton Rd Oro Valley, AZ, 85704, USA - Oro Valley
Constituent reports cracks in the road of Overton Rd between the Canada Del Oro Wash and Rancho Feliz Dr. They state the pavement is also heaving at the cracks, and it makes it very difficult to drive the speed limit, and will likely get worse with the recent increased traffic.
  • 2640-2706 W Lambert Ln Tucson, AZ, 85742, USA - Oro Valley
There are at least 5 growing potholes on West Lambert Lane going East towards La Cholla Rd. Since this is a two-lane road this poses more than a hazard especially at night time. Request these be repaired ASAP.

    Concerns re Overton Safety
    Location:
The stretch of road from W. Overton Road and N. Zenyatta Drive (the entrance to the new Lennar development), to the entrance to “the Loop”.
    Problems:
I am horrified at how dangerous this stretch of road is on a bike (and quite frankly in a car too). I feel as if I am taking my life in my hands every day when I bike on Overton Rd. to access the bike path.
There is no shoulder, the road is torn up, visibility exiting out of N. Zenyatta Drive is not great because the exit from Zenyatta to Overton is at the top of a curve making it difficult to see cars speeding up Overton Road heading towards La Canada. Once I am on Overton Road heading downhill to the Loop, cars are speeding up behind me while I am going 10mph. There is no shoulder for me to pull onto and it is difficult for them to pass me while giving me 3’. I sit in the middle of the road to make sure they see me and do not push me off into the dirt/rocks. But they are coming so fast, I am afraid of getting hit. Although the road can accommodate a wide shoulder—right now it is just dirt.
I cannot understand how a road that is in such desperate need of repaving, is just one lane in each direction with no shoulder, that connects 2 major bike paths (The Loop & La Canada), and feeds many housing developments, can have a speed limit of 40mph. La Canada, Magee, Ina and other 4 lane highways that have a huge bike shoulder, have a speed limit of 45 and actually the speed limit on N. Shannon Road is 30mph.
There has been so much effort put into making Tucson the best place for cycling. The Loop is amazing. But the access points to the Loop must also be bike safe!!
I feel that immediate action needs to be taken.
    Solution
    1. A bike lane is necessary on Overton Road, connecting The Loop to La Canada, (where there is also a great bike lane).
    2. The speed limit on W. Overton Road from “The Loop” to La Canada must be reduced to 30MPH. It is currently way too high for a bike-shared one lane road with no shoulder. And since the cars go at least 10 mph faster than the posted limit (as the speed limit seems to merely be a suggestion) it is both an issue of reducing the speed limit and strong enforcement.
    3. The reduced speed limit must be enforced.
    4. There also need to be signs about sharing the road and giving 3 feet passing distance. In CO, these signs are prevalent.
  • 1774-1798 W Overton Rd Oro Valley, AZ, 85704, USA - Oro Valley
Extremely rough and bumpy patch of road located on a sharp turn and at the end/beginning of a steep downhill that also has a sudden dip on the downhill just before the turn. Especially dangerous for motorcycles.

I am an epilepsy single mom looking for Rent Help for 2 to 3 months so I can get back on track where I’m paying my regular rent on the third instead of paying $260 extra for late fees if anybody knows a community service program that is not out of funds I would appreciate the help. I’ve called Salvation Army. I called Prima County Law media action. I called Adult Sevices I’ve called. Churches and they all don’t have funding. I’m very frustrated because the people that can help you have to be 55 and over which I look at it as it should be 55 and over and people with disabilities on a fixed income that should get Housing help.
