Missing left turn arrow from signal Archived15 Mather St Hamden - HamdenSeveral months ago the left turn arrow from Whitney onto Mather mysteriously vanished from the signal. Now the oncoming traffic gets a red while the Mather bound traffic get a green. I've never been at a light where only one side of the intersection gets a green...without an arrow it makes you 'guess' if the oncoming traffic is stopped or not. I worry that there will be an accident because there is no obvious right of way. Why was the light taken down?

5-way stop sign needed Archived97 Belmont St Whitneyville, CT 06517 - HamdenThere is a 5-way stop sign at this intersection, but the signs need to be labelled "5-way". People on Mather cruise through it thinking there are only two stop signs and don't even look right or left to see if there are other cars at the three cross streets.

pets not being taken care of Archived41 Clifford St Hamden, CT - Hamden
This elderly woman has multiple pets and they do not get proper care. She has a female black cat that is breeding continually. She just had a litter 5 weeks ago and the neighbors believe she is pregnant again.
This woman aquires a dog, gets tired of it then gets rid of them. No one seems to know where they go or who she gives them to. She's giving away kittens to anyone who will take them. i'm truly afraid for their safety.
She has a son who lives with her. Maybe he can get her to stop this behavior if someone talks to him too. -

Bad sidewalks southbound Archived1340 Whitney Avenue Hamden, CT 06517, USA - HamdenThe town claims to be getting ready to work on whitney like sidewalks . Well they should do these they see the most traffic and are horrible between the children's center and mikes garage. A lot of people jog here and it's dangerous

People runnin red light Archived3 Davis St CT 06517 - Hamden
For the past few months left lane drivers on Whitney, going towards New Haven, sitting at the red light, have started flooring it across the intersection to beat traffic when the light turns green...taking a left onto Davis. Honking horns and angry drivers are the result. This happens 90% of the time I stop at that light which is a minimum of twice a day.
With a day-school entrance at that intersection there will be a pile-up or worse one day if something is not done to make people start obeying the signals.
SUGGESTION: The Hamden police need to station an unmarked car and ticket every single car that does this for "failure to yield right of way".

Paint Striping missing on Putnam Ave ArchivedPutnam Ave Hamden, Connecticut - HamdenAfter paving Putnam Ave, the center stripe and paint lines have not been repainted. This is particularly a problem at corner of Putnam and Whitney where the “stop line” is set back several car lengths from the corner for safety reasons. In addition to painting the lines, it would be helpful to replace the sign that said “Stop Here” . The setback is necessary for trucks making turn onto Putnam and the paint and sign are required to make that stopping point obvious as well as making the center line clear the full length of Putnam Ave.
