Rough Road ArchivedI-215 Southbound From I-80 To 4700 So. Salt Lake, Utah - West Valley CityI-215 Southbound and Northbound from I-80 to 4700 South is in very rough shape. Are there any plans to improve the road any time soon? I am concerned that this will get ugly during the winter months.

Barrier/Guardrail Archived5415 South Eastview Drive Kearns, Utah - Kearns
I'd like to have a discussion about an island that has recently been installed on 5400 South Eastview Drive (about 5510 West).
The approximately 150-200 foot island that was installed, I guess to support a two-lane left turn from Westbound 5400 S. to Southbound 5600 W. has been installed too far East by about 30 feet or so. This causes all of the traffic servicing approximately 600+ homes to turn one street prior on 5475 West and zig-zag back and forth to get to our Parkridge subdivision. Not only is it absolutely the most annoying part of my commute, it serves absolutely no purpose. And, there was absolutely no problems with the road or the distant intersection before...
The entrance into Eastview is smooth and pretty and flows freely, just as you would expect a neighborhood entrance to flow. Having to enter on 5475 W. means I negotiate two huge dips that my Durango can barely handle let alone most typical cars, plus it forces drivers to negotiate a steep hill with a stop sign at the top which has caused major issues in the snow even with just the three or four snowfalls that we had. It's steep enough that no one can start moving again after stopping. Prior to this configuration, almost no one ever had a reason to drive this route. It makes no sense whatsoever.
The other issue is that probably 2/3 of drivers are actually NOT turning down 5475 West and negotiating the ridiculous zig-zag mess. They are actually sitting in the center lane on 5400 South prior to the island then waiting for oncoming cars to clear and driving up the opposite side of the road. It's only 25-30 feet, why not??? Because I see an near accident every time I come home from work, every time I go to the grocery store, every time I take the kids to school, and every time we're late for church. Yes, even the churchgoers are blazing through this one on Sunday heading to and from service, because it makes no sense the way it is.
The other reason the new configuration makes no sense is that IF the island is trying to prevent commuters from entering Eastview during events or whatever, the zig-zag option is still available; it doesn't prevent anything... it just makes everything worse BY FAR. There are literally 5-6 cars making the stupid zig-zag from one innocent neighborhood to Parkridge every time I go there. The poor homeowners that live along the zig-zag are probably going nuts from the stream of cars this has needlessly produced.
Please let me know what steps I can take next to help get this resolved. I have not measured these but I'd be happy to do so, and I'd take a day off of work just to meet you there if you would like. By simply removing just 30 feet of that 200 foot island, the stars will realign and the world will be a happier place again.
I invite you to please take a quick drive to this location to evaluate if it should be corrected to allow traffic onto Eastview from Westward travel. In 30 years of driving, I've never seen anything like it, and I believe you will be yanking your hair out on your first visit.
Thank you for your time.
Respectfully,
Mike Goodfellow

Residental problem due to turn lane Archived4734 S 2700 W taylorsville, Utah - TaylorsvilleThis extra turn lane going west on 4700 south and turning south on 2700 west is causing me as a resident stress. Cars now slide up into my driveway . The gas station next door drips water from the car wash that frezes in the winter thus cars now slide right up into my driveway. I cant afford to move nor pour another driveway in my back yard. I also cant afford full coverage on my cars. This location now has become a hardship on our family.
Also all the accidents now and the neighbors leaving me nasty notes on my car when I park on the side of my home . I recieved a 500.00 fine for nusiance partly due to all the calls to the police department for parking on the side of my home from one certain neighbor.
