Notified About

  • 73 Lyman St Holyoke, Massachusetts - Holyoke

The family living at 73 Lyman have been dealing drugs since they moved here 7 years ago. There have been multiple shooting incidents connected with this family, and most of the members have been charged with drug crimes since they moved in. The Mama of the house does the dealing these days since the other members are well known. I'm most disturbed that their children started lighting fires around the neighborhood this year. Even though the children were caught red handed nothing is being done about it.

I know the police are going to read this and tell the mayor that they get no calls about this place. We tried calling years ago, and saw very poor results from the police. In fact, the drug dealers started intimidating us by shooting guns behind our house at night. The police were not very interested in doing anything unless we could find the shell casings. We stopped calling when the police wouldn't get out of their cars anymore to check the back alley. They just drove around the block twice, saw nothing, and left. It was pretty obvious that some corrupt officer, or officers had informed the dealers who was making the complaints.

At this point city hall doesn't need the police to deal with this. The law dept could easily put this drug den out of business with the laws that allow for the forfeiture of properties connected to crimes. When I lived in Boston they seized properties for less reason than what's going on here.

We are afraid these people are now going to have their children burn out the decent people so they can rule the neighborhood. We demand city hall take action on 73 Lyman immediately.

American Environmental is a bad match for a residential neighborhood. Over the past year (off and on) I've called them, emailed, called the police, and contacted my Ward representative. Nothing has changed. American Environmental was at it again with incredibly loud banging noise that jarred me from sleep at 5:30 this morning. I'm not a light sleeper. Their noise is unacceptably loud!!! Now, at 6:45 they are smashing window pains in the back of a cavernous semi truck. This is typical of the sounds that come from their lot which abuts a residential neighborhood. We have the right to quiet enjoyment of our homes.

Alcon Towing on N Canal St.

Code enforcement has not been able to find the owner of this property for 3 years. Since it has been abandoned by the owner please shut down the business operating here, secure the building, clean up the hazardous waste, and tow all these vehicles.

  • 2 Grover Street Holyoke, MA 01040, USA - Holyoke
These barrels with bulk waste inside have been sitting here for a few weeks now. Who ever put this stuff here doesn't know or care about the trash collection rules.
  • 73 Lyman St Holyoke, Massachusetts - Holyoke
I heard 3 more gun shots around 10:40PM Sunday night while I was getting ready for bed. Sounded like the same area as before.

Remove these special parking permit signs on Center St

I don't know why these signs went up in the first place but they are just causing needless problems. All the vehicles ticketed in the past 2 days belong to residents who live here, or their guests, or work vehicles that they have to take home as a condition of their employment. No one comes down here to abandon their car for long term parking. People need to park here whether they have permits or not.

This residential parking system provides no 'visitor parking' for guests of residents, or ways to get a temporary permit for rentals, or contractors, service vehicles, deliveries, or home health aids. There's no way get a permit outside of City Hall business hours, and the only people who can get them are residents.

While we are on the subject of parking the city also needs to stop giving people personal parking spaces in front of their homes because they have a HP / DV Plate. A Placard should not guarantee a personal parking space. Under state law HP Parking Spaces are not reserved for exclusive personal use. All HP spaces on public streets are available for use by any vehicle with a valid HP / DV license plate, or an HP placard.

We had a public hearing about 20 years ago and everyone agreed for the creation of 2 HP parking spaces in the middle section of the street. The parking spaces were repainted with extra room next to the HP spaces. Since that time HP parking has been taken out, put back, and taken out again. There's currently 4 HP spaces randomly placed on the street. The handicapped commission needs to stop giving HP spaces as personal convenience parking.

8:30PM, Sunday. A short, heavy set man fired 3 gun shots into the air in the back yard of 73 Lyman St. He quickly ran inside that house. It was too dark to get a very good look at him.

This issue was reported in Aug. 2014 and then closed Feb. 2015, However the drug trafficking is still going on, so I am reopening it. I don't know if it is the same people as described (maybe some others can shed more light) but the address is the same with traffic moving in and out of there regularly. Please stop this blatant operation once and for all.

Violation of city ordinance. Loud crashing noise of dumpsters being emptied at 4:10AM behind 11 N East St. This is an ongoing issue. It's loud enough to wake me up a block away. Sounds like they are being thrown off the top of the truck.

The company American Environmental makes lots of noise all the time loading and unloading cavernous metal trucks, back up beeps, etc. Their parking lot abuts housing on Grover and Lyman Streets. The business activities here are unsuitable for a residential neighborhood. The most disturbing is when they do these things in the wee hours of the morning - around 5:00 am - sometimes earlier. Waking us from a sound sleep. Or ruin whole weekends with the loud constant beeps and smash crashing bang sounds going on entire days.
