Outdoor seating would be a good thing for the area here putting more eyes on the street.
  • 2-598 East Shore Parkway New Haven, Connecticut - Annex
Motiva terminal is a critical infrastructure as it serves as a supply point for trucks picking up gasoline and diesel fuel. Potholes on the road leading to the terminal are deep and wide, and pose a hazard to the trucks picking up fuel. These are heavy trucks carrying petroleum products, a hazardous material, and these potholes pose a safety risk to them. Pictured is one pothole out of perhaps a dozen, some four feet wide, and very deep, which is hard to see since they're filled with water. CEMA, representing the petroleum industry, is filing this report on behalf of Motiva.

410 Woodward Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Annex
The trees in East Shore Park are in DESPERATE need of being cleaned of invasive and native species of vine which are growing well into the canopy of many of the trees. I would easily say that 95% of the trees inside the park along the areas of unmown lawn especially are affected. As well, two trees have been girdled by vandalism, with many more being girdled by invasives such as bittersweet. I understand the financial crisis of the city and the Park Departments decision to let the lawn go wild for the last two seasons prior to this one, but in doing this, invasives have come in and are scaffolding up most of the trees. This situation is approaching dire.
  • 2 Waterfront St New Haven, CT 06512, USA - Annex
Thick smoke appears to be coming from the ship docked at the oil refinery (or maybe the refinery itself) and blowing into New Haven. It seems to be intermittent but incredibly foul smelling.
  • Woodward Ave new haven , Connecticut - Annex

The dog park has been vandalized. Someone stole the picnic table that was in the larger ring and they destroyed the fence in the process (see photos). Now dogs can get out because the fence has collapsed.

Also, there appears to be a pole missing, or a large gap in the doorways of both large and small dog parks that are used to bring in the lawn mowers. For the small dog park, it's large enough that the small dogs <10lbs can get through and escape.

Also, there are very large holes in the ground in the large dog park as if someone or something has been digging.

  • Tomlinson Bridge New Haven, CT - Annex
Forbes Ave is already used by dozens of bicycle commuters as their primary route between downtown and Annex+East Shore despite the road being completely inhospitable to bicycling. Imagine how much more convenient bicycling would be for thousands of Annex and East Shore residents if Forbes Ave were reduced to one lane in each direction with a center turn-out lane and bike lanes on either side. I hear that the City is tentatively supportive and it is simply a matter of getting DOT onboard. Now that a new administration is coming to Hartford, this sounds significantly more plausible. If you would like to see bike lanes on Forbes Ave, vote for this issue!

  • Speeding cars Archived
1037townsend Ave New Haven, CT 06512 - Annex
Cars speed down townsend avenue at speeds exceeding 60 mph. The speed limit is 30 mph. My cars have been hit,my dog was killed and my cousin was struck and left for dead by a speeding hit and run driver.Perhaps one of the "5" police chiefs in New haven could set up a radar trap or some sort of traffic enforcment. This is an ever increasing problem which only gets worse in the summer with the illegally loud motorcycles and obnoxious illegal mufflers.

EXACTLY what is happening with this house? Dumpsters in the driveway for months. Trash all over the place. Abandoned cars appear and then disappear. Windows open at times day and night with no screens? It's a disaster!
