    This is not my 1st time writing to you about missed garbage pickups.
    Please pick up my back door trash and recycling bags regularly, on Tuesdays especially. My garbage bin is emptied, on average, once every week and a half to 2-week periods of time. I am in hopes my recycling bags (I even still separate them from trash and write RECYCLE on the bags), are really going to a recycling distribution center, when picked up on Tuesdays. If not, I'm wasting a lot of time.
    Also, if my garbage is only picked up on Fridays, as it often is, my efforts to recycle paper, plastics, aluminum, etc., are wasted, since recycling trash has to be picked up on Tuesdays!
    Your attention to this matter will be appreciated. Thank you for coming around to the back of my house to take care of this, as I'm unable to pull my trash cart to the street.

    The following post still describes my problem. I posted this (below) on October 14, and my "case" was closed by Amwaste on October 18, 2024 with still NO PICKUP of my garbage at my back door. No change in lack of service... but I received an email that my "case" was closed! How is it possible to close a case that has not been resolved?
    My back door garbage was finally picked up last Friday, on Nov.1, and all the pile up of weeks old garbage and 2 huge recycle bags, (even labeled as RECYCLE!) were taken. On Fridays I'm told, the garbage is taken straight to the local dump!
    If Amwaste doesn't pick my garbage up but one time a week (and regularly!) ,I'd rather it be on Tuesdays, so at least all my trouble in recycling would not be dumped in the local landfill!! I believe in recycling and take it seriously. The lack of service on Tuesday's pick up days is not acceptable!
    I am forwarding this information to the new City Manager of Homewood, in hopes this chronic problem can receive attention...

    I am reporting a persistent water leak and mold problem at my rental property located at The Brookwood Apartment Homes. The mold problem has been going on for over three months and has caused water damage and visible mold growth inside the unit. While the landlord's maintenance has come to "fix" the problem, their actions only cover or clean the surface temporarily without addressing the underlying leak or fully remediating the mold. As a result, the issue keeps returning and continues to pose a serious health and safety risk. I request that Housing Code Enforcement inspect the property for violations of the Birmingham Housing Code and require proper repaire and remediation.

    Not only was I dealing with swelling of the kitchen ceiling and outrageous leaking into the kitchen cabinets, onto the counters, and onto the kitchen floors during almost the entirety of the three years I lived there (failure to repair repeatedly), but I was confronted with a major health and safety issue for the last six months of my lease before moving out. Fecal matter and toilet paper were accumulating in the yard for months with Redmont refusing to do anything about it or even regularly clean the literal pieces of poop right outside my front door, but they then blew up the stairs and left a giant hole in my yard for months. Even when I was moving out, five months after the issue started, there was a giant boulder protruding into the sidewalk directly outside my house--yet another safety hazard which Redmont negligently failed to repair as required under Alabama Code for Landlord and Tenant Rights.
