Notified About

  • 12 Spring Street Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
There is a house on the right hand side of Spring St., white w/blue trim, that has a dog that they tie up on the sidewalk EVERY DAY. The poor dog barks at all hours day and night, because he is neglected/bored! Never see him get walked, the whole street hears this dog,& it’s been months. He broke free a few days ago & took off, then the people came out screaming and got him back, & were dragging him by the throat. The barking is annoying, but we feel bad for the DOG. He seems like he would be friendly when you walk by, he doesn’t actively bark AT you, he barks because he’s alone outside and barks at cars & especially other dogs who are actually being walked! This family seems horrible with him. I think everyone notices but no one says anything; I think it’s animal abuse . He is neglected. Not sure the actual house number, but all you have to do is drive down Spring St and you will probably hear/see him! It is like two houses before the apartment building on corner of Park & Spring. Another way to tell house is a bright yellow pickup truck, with NH plates, lives there. This dog should be taken and given to someone who would actually pet & walk him,& not leave him outside for hours.

East Coast Greenway Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 4

Sidewalk closure that affects pedestrian safety. There is nowhere that is safe to walk, and people are forced onto Route 60. There are no pedestrian lights that allow us to cross Rt. 60 safely from the east side to avoid the closure.

I have posted about this previously, 6 days ago, and despite strong interest from the community, as evidenced by votes and comments, no city or police official has responded yet. Please assign this to someone who can respond in a very timely way.

All that is needed is to cone off the area so that pedestrians have a safe place to walk. As lanes have been coned off all over the city for construction projects, this seems like a very small thing to ask.

Any time the weather is nice, this guy is out blasting his music at deafening volumes for the whole world to hear. Please do something about him. Does Malden Police not patrol the streets regularly or do they just sit at Bikeeny all day?
  • 19-99 Page St Malden, MA, 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
There have been up to four commercial vehicles over two tons parked on Page St on any given day. These vehicles start their engines leaving them idling as early as 6am and are often moving ladders and other large materials between vehicles between 6 and 7am. They do not observe street cleaning so our street has not been swept in over a month. I understand that commercial vehicles are allowed to park in residential areas but four at a time on one street when the owners do not live on that street and doing commercial work is causing a public disturbance.

I would like to report the same noise issue as a previous post at 99 Florence St to draw more attention to it. This loud and high frequency noise is giving me headache within one hour. After tracking old posts on this website, I am very surprised to know that this noise issue has been filed since 2020. It is apparently bothering people who live nearby, but nothing has been done for at least the past 2 years. Please address this issue. Thank you.

I moved to this city in April, and I am shocked by how noisy it is! There are so many vehicles with illegally altered mufflers and engines so loud it's earth-shattering. Not to mention drivers blaring their music at deafening volumes. I should not be able to hear their music so clearly in my apartment! Worse, when it's from a motorcyclist blasting away making me feel as though I'm at an outdoor concert. Leominster is cracking down on noise from drivers, why isn't Malden?! This is a serious issue.

My son attends MHS. We were told that there would be pooled testing of students at the high school. I just recently learned that there has been none. Why?

The disregard for the health and safety of students, their families, and the community is shocking, as is the dishonesty. We have been the victims of a dangerous bait and switch. The city never told us of the change in plans. Now the city refuses to provide information about the reason for the change or the plan going forward. The mayor is the head of the school committee. Where is he? Why is he not leading? Where is our new school superintendent? Why are they hiding and refusing to answer questions?

The questions are simple. Why is there no testing? When will there be testing?

Answer the questions. Do not respond with one of your patronizing canned responses that these are questions that can't be answered here. I have posted my questions on the MPS FB page, as have countless other concerned parents. We have all been ignored. So I am asking here. I, along with every other member of the community, deserve and expect a response.

Nothing should be more important than the health, safety, and welfare of our city's children. Do your job.

The apartment building at 99 Florence St has a large industrial AC unit in back (abutting Garnet St) running all the time that is *loud*. From approximately 150 ft away, inside my apartment, this noise reads over 60 decibels per my phone. The relevant municipal code (https://malden.municipalcodeonline.com/#book/mread?type=ordinances&name=10.04.020_NOISE_ABATEMENT;_DISTURBING_THE_PEACE_PROHIBITED) says noise over 50 decibels at the property line between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. is excessive and prohibited. From much further away and inside a building the decibel level is too high for nighttime according to the ordinance. Last summer when I made a complaint your office’s reply was effectively “this is the same level of noise as it’s been before” and I’m complaining again to say… so what? The noise was prohibited then, last summer, and remains so now. Please make the apartment building use an AC unit that is not excessively loud and disturbing to other Malden residents in their homes.

My son sttends MHS. My family received a message from MHS indicating that students who have tested positive for COVID before 12-28 can return to school even if they are still symptomatic, provided they don't have a fever and symptoms have "improved." This cannot possibly be what they meant to say. They cannot possibly be suggesting that a COVID positive individual who still has symptoms can attend school. Surely the author has simply phrased the message wrong, as what was said is not consistent with any reasonable public health policy and cannot possibly be what was meant. Please issue a clarification. You simply cannot allow -- invite, actually -- COVID positive students exhibiting symptoms to attend school and place other students and their families at risk.
