Notified About

  • Roadway Flooded Acknowledged
4744 Thoroughgood Dr Virginia Beach, VA 23455, USA - Northwest
Our yards & the street have flooded since the Church Point drainage ditch & pond were put in. I've lived in this house 30 years. There was never flooding before. The ditch isn't adequate for all the Stormwater that runs into it. Their side was graded higher. So all their water runs into our yards & Thoroughgood Drive. Something needs to be done to correct this problem. These are the first two houses on the north side of Thoroughgood Drive at the Pleasure House Road entrance.
  • Aragona Blvd Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
ARAGONA BLVD IS A DISASTER ZONE. THE ENTIRE STREET FROM VA. BEACH BLVD ALL THE WAY TO HAYGOOD RD. IS FULL OF SINK HOLES BADLY PATCHED.
WHAT DOES THE CITY PLAN TO DO ABOUT THIS DISASTER. WE USE THIS ROAD 2 TIMES A DAY EVERYDAY. THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PATCHING THE ROAD ARE DOING A VERY BAD JOB. WHO IS PUTTING MONEY IN THEIR POCKLET INSTEAD OF THE CORRECT REPAIRES.
  • 2408 Pleasure House Rd Virginia Beach, VA - Northwest

Just verified Storm Drain on East side of Pleasure House Rd from Judge Lane to Bel Aire Avenue “DO NOT DRAIN”, they are always 75% to 90% full.
The Drain on the West Side of Pleasure House about 50% Full. All the drainage ditches need to be cleaned from Powell’s Point Rd. To Lookout Rd.

These drains have continued to be clogged and one of the main reasons the streets flood,

Appreciate your assistance in advance for your help in resolving these issues, as you have with others we have reported.

    Sincerely,
    Tom Steet

  • 1705 Maycraft Rd Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
In the past 5 years, we have had four flooding incidents caused by the inadequate storm water drain system between Thorougood and Church Point neighborhoods. There have been houses flooded, property damaged, and cars ruined because of it. Both neighborhoods drain to a retention pond located near the intersection of Pleasure House Rd and First Court Rd, subsequently, the water flows under Pleasure House Rd via two 36" DIA concrete pipes. Either these pipes are inadequately sized or drain sizing down stream is inadequately sized. Attached is a picture of the two pipe underwater during the latest flood event that occurred on 8/19/2016. The piping was verified to be clean following a flooding event on 7/31/16.
  • 2521 Seaview Ave. Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
The roadway is completely eroding into our property due to public parking, storms, etc. People are having a hard time parking and getting out of the passenger side due to the erosion getting so high. It is getting worse by the day and coming into our private property.
  • 2488 Bayview Ave Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
City allows parking on both sides of Bayview Avenue. However, the street is not wide enough for parking on both sides. This poses a public safety hazard as the street becomes impassable to fire trucks and ambulances. Attached is a photo of the school bus being unable to pass through. Please address parking on Bayview Avenue to avoid life safety issues that may arise.
  • Shore Drive Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
Light at Shore Drive and East Stratford Road cycles without any cross traffic.
  • SPEEDING!! Archived
4637 Thoroughgood Drive Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
This is my second time reporting this issue. Speeding is a MAJOR issue throughout the Thoroughgood neighborhood and especially on Thoroughgood Drive. The last submission was answered by a speed trap set up by the 3rd precinct on ONE day. If increased law enforcement is the proposed solution, there needs to be a lot more presence than one car on one morning. The speeding is constant and almost always at least 15MPH over the posted limit. I have three small children (all under 4) and I cannot enjoy my front yard due to reckless driving and a fear for their safety. Please consider making the major intersections throughout the neighborhood 4 way stops or placing speed bumps throughout.
  • 4614 Lauderdale Ave Virginia Beach, VA 23455, USA - Northwest
There is a very large tree limb in the City right-of-way that could be a hazard to autos and bike riders on the 4600 block of Lauderdale Ave. Part of the limb is protruding into the roadway. Given the narrowness of the road and two cars cannot pass without one pulling off the road, this could be a potential hazzard. The limb was either dumped or moved there. It's not obvious that it came off a nearby tree.
  • 4650 Lee Ave A, Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
Parking has always been an issue here and with the summer in full effect the road parking has become a hazard. We need to have a sign placed at the corner of Lee and Fentress due to people parking on both sides of the street making it impossible to turn onto Lee. Also with parking on both sides of the street emergency vehicles can not make it to down to the end as the road narrows. This is a health and safety issue that needs to be addressed.
  • Constitution Drive Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
Rail tracks are an issue with holes/tracks and car could damage its tires or suspension. These tracks Need to be paved over, given the large amount of traffic this road gets being so close to town center and Va. Beach Blvd. Many other tacks have been removed or paved on streets with far less traffic. I place this at a high priority problem. I go over these tracks several times a day and must slow down to about 5 MPH to avoid possible damage to my car. Respectfully Frank C Edwards 7574981790
  • Pothole Archived
Bayville Road Virginia Beach, Virginia - Northwest
Very large and deep pothole. Very dangerous to pedestrians, bikers and vehicles turning right from the stop sign on Bayville Rd onto Indian Hill Rd. Getting worse by the day.
