Traffic Signal ArchivedN Rock Rd & E 63rd St S Derby, KS, 67037, USA - Derby
This is an email I received from a concerned citizen:
I am concerned that a crosswalk is not working properly. This is a very busy intersection and kids from the middle school are using it daily, but I don't think the audible beeping is working.
Also, another area of concern I have is that kids are waiting to cross that section (circled) to get to the crosswalk button on the other side and cars are not stopping to allow them to get to that location. So, they are competing with traffic. We need to design this intersection better.
Also, there needs to be a public service announcement that vehicles need to stop at the white line and slowly proceed to turn.
I see near accidents happen all the time because of that. I think it would be helpful to add red flags that kids can hold from one end of the crosswalk, returning it to another holder on the other side so that vehicles three lanes over can see the flag moving and know someone is crossing or perhaps install large mirrors so drivers can see the crosswalk zone.
Just some thoughts, thanks.

ADA Issue/Concern Archived1600 E Walnut Grove Rd Derby, Kansas, 67037 - DerbyDear sir or madam,
What would be the possibility of moving the library’s drive-thru doorbell underneath the window to make it more accessible? Currently, one has to drive slightly past the window to reach the bell, and reach up when in a lower vehicle, then back up to interact with the clerk. Moving it would put it in everyone’s reach and resolve the need to drive past it and then back up again.
Thank you for your consideration,
Julian -
