  • 157 Walden Street Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - Neighborhood 9
Button on south side is not working. Warning lights do not turn on
  • Raymond St & Walden St Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - Neighborhood 9
Of 50 cars to traverse this 4 way stop intersection at a park corner, only 10 cars came to a complete stop. 20% compliance is an opportunity for serious injury. Some cars did not come to a complete stop even when children were crossing the intersection. This is typical when I do this counting.
  • Huron Ave & Rc Kelley St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
The traffic on Huron going from Concord to Garden is now backed up for several hours a day (due to the change on Garden St). Signals at both intersections need to be adjusted so that the Concord and Huron intersection is not blocked by the line of cars (which makes people start maneuvering around and thats unsafe for pedestrians and bikers alike). And the lights at Huron and Garden need to be adjusted now that there are so many more cars approaching on Huron, it can take 4+ light cycles to get from Concord to Garden between 2 and 7 pm.

193 Concord Ave Cambridge MA 02138, United States - Neighborhood 9

Waiting for bus at Concord and Huron Traffic backed up in all directions But that isn't exactly what I am reporting

In 10 minutes I have observed seven adults on bicycles riding on the sidewalk on either side of Concord and five riding against traffic on the westbound side of Concord

I think these bicyclists have by their actions demonstrated that the Garden Street changes are not what they want They are also not what the neighborhood wants

Two more on the sidewalk as I write this And my bus is late, undoubtedly stuck in traffic the Garden Street changes caused

If the bikes don't use it and the neighbors don't want it let's get rid of this failed experiment

The traffic signal at this location no longer working. It is always just flashing yellow light.
It is now very hard to cross the street to the Danehy park. There is also an elementary school here : (the Cambridge Montessori school).

    ICE vehicle blocking charging station.
  • 36 Bay State Rd Cambridge, MA 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9

We live in Bay State Road and we are very happy to see that the renovation work is almost finished. But there are a couple of issues:
People are not respecting the 20 mph drive limit. They are taking this as an alternative to Concord Ave and we see and hear them go around 40 mph, accelerating greatly just after the Field St lot entrance (even when its a curve).

This is an issue because THERE IS NO CROSSWALK at the intersection of Bay State and Birch St (between Field St and New St) which creates a makes for a dangerous combination. There are many people with little kids (and without) crossing at the level Bonny's Garden center to get to Imagine, to the Children's Village and of course to Bonny's. And when they get their flowers at Bonny's they have to cross back with their hands occupied, evading cars. Some cars reduce their speed when they see people trying to cross, but most of them don't and that is just an accident waiting to happen.

What can we do about this, please?

Traffic calming or an additional crosswalk at the intersection with Birch St and Bay State (or further down closer to the apartments at 42-50 Bay State Rd) should be options on the table. I won't even talk about the noisy Harley motorcycles at 6 am, but talking for all the people with kids it is worrying to see that this street is becoming a highway due to these high speed, infringing cars...

I am a resident of Cambridge and also a parent of a young child that frequents Danehy Park regularly. I have had a growing concern regarding park and rec workers hired for summer. A group of children were almost struck by a parks vehicle exceeding speeds well past 15 miles per hour.
Had the exhaust not been so loud, the ten plus children on a rope with blue pinnies would have made contact with the group. Four young men wearing green staff shirts driving a parks ATV came barrelling down the path where children walk from one field to another. I tried getting their attention but could not catch up. One employee was evening riding on the hood of the vehicle and two were hanging off the back. These young men are not regularly supervised and are often seen speeding around, stopping to whistle at female patrons, and using foul language loudly. I am furious my tax dollars are funding this type of hiring practice. A child(ren) will indelibly run the risk of being seriously injured if this behavior continues. Please, please
, please look into the matter.

Bike racks needed outside of our business for the public, guests, and employees.
  • 96-106 Garden St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
The City Council should pass an ordinance making it illegal for bikes, hover boards, electric scooters and the like to travel on sidewalks wherever there is a bike lane immediately available. Why should the elderly, people with small children, those with disabilities, or anyone else need to dodge wheeled traffic when bike lanes have been created for them to use?

There is a sidewalk/curb dip like a driveway used to be here (but there is no driveway) in front of House of Chang. The street signs all say 2 hour parking, but the business owners claim this spot on the street is a "private" spot for their business (delivery driver) and put out a cone stating as such. We are nextdoor neighbors and need to park on the street by our house. Can someone tell us if this in fact a private spot/"driveway"or if it is public street parking? I see people get confused about it all the time.
