    Making a right turn from 23 to highcrest is a dangerous event so we get as far right as possible to slow for the hairpin turn. The road has crumble there and the potholes are deep. Plus, more potholes in the middle of the entrance to high crest road as you make the turn.

  • Rt.23 & Echo Lake Road West Milford, NJ - West Milford
    If a train is on the tracks which run parallel to Rt.23, the traffic light for Echo Lake Road & Rt.23 does not cycle at all. So, when traveling from Echo Lake Road and attempting to turn either direction onto Rt.23 you have to wait till the entire train passes before the traffic light begins to cycle. It should be noted that the tracks for the train do not intersect the intersection at all and there is no danger to passing vehicles on either Rt.23 or Echo Lake road!

    There are 2 extremely large, deep potholes at the base of the High Crest Drive exit ramp on Route 23 North. It makes it extremely dangerous getting off the highway because to avoid hitting the potholes, you need to keep your car on Route 23 until the last second when you can turn onto High Crest Drive without hitting the pothole. Hitting the pothole could cause you to veer back onto the highway into traffic.
