Wildcat Canyon Road Orinda, CA 94563, USA - Orinda
The intersection of Camino Pablo and Wildcat Canyon Road gets a huge amount of bicycle traffic, as it is the meeting of two very popular bike routes. However, there is no indication of where the loop detectors are in the pavement, which is supposed to detect cars and bikes in order to turn the light green.
I have seen many bicyclists wait and wait here and never get a green light, then eventually give up and run the red, which can be very dangerous. As such, bicycle stencils are needed on each leg of this intersection, including the left turn lanes on Camino Pablo, so bicyclists will know where to wait. Adding standard "wait on stencil for green light" signs would also be beneficial.
Another option would be to change this intersection from loop detection to video detection so that cyclists would not need to know where to wait at all.
