Notified About

  • Street Signs Archived
Stanton And Buena Vista Alameda, California - Alameda
Can a stop sign or a traffic signal be put up in Stanton and buena vista. I'm trying to cross the street with my kids and no one is stopping for the cross walk. Over the last two weeks I've nearly been run over several times.
  • 1803 Stanton St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda

I'm going to keep posting for this until someone takes action. I nearly witnessed a young woman in front of me nearly get run over by a van tonight speeding down Buena Vista. It's now very dark when many of us get home from work this time a year and this intersection DESPERATELY needs some sort of crosswalk light to signal that people are crossing the street. Many people park their cars along the road also blocking view of pedestrians attempting to cross.

We are also entering into the wet season when it takes more time to slow to a stop. Either get a cop out here to patrol and fine speeders, a mph warning sign, or install a damn crossing light here already! The Marina Shores community has been asking for one for 2 years now. There are also people speeding down Clement, you can work on that issue next.

What will it take- a dead pedestrian -for you to FINALLY take action? This is ridiculous!

  • 1803 Stanton St Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
I would like to propose a flashing crosswalk sign here similar to those used on Park street. Because of street parking, it is oftentimes difficult to see pedestrians on the sidewalk trying to cross and cars speed down the road. At night it is very dangerous trying to cross Buena Vista after exiting the bus.
  • 1501 Buena Vista Avenue Alameda, California - Alameda

An ongoing issue at Delmonte Werehouse located at 1501 Buena Vista Ave. Tractor and trailers operated by Oakland Transportation INC, CA# 0453410, are parked daily along Entrance Road. The commercial vehicles arrive at odd ours of the night. The vehicles often arrive betwen 10 pm and 12 AM, they resume operation between 4 am and 7 am.

Alameda Police has been called on numerous occasions and have noted the vehicles are illegally parked, but on private property. No action is taken, the problem continues.

Accoridng to Tim Lewis Home( current owners of the the Delmonts Werehouse) they are aware of the issue , but say Alameda will not allow them to erect fencing along Entrance road. In addition no parking signage is held up with the permit office.

This has been going on for over two years and this is not the first posting regarding this issue. Entrance road is zoned as a “Residential Neighborhood”. The noise associated with this issue is disruptive, and their vehicles unslightly in a residential area.

  • Entrance Rd Alameda, CA 94501, USA - Alameda
Traffic has become dangerous at this intersection, with more cars turning on and off of Buena Vista, and crossing as a pedestrian or bike is nearly impossible. Cars regularly drive this stretch of BV between 40 & 60 mph. Please install the planned 3-way stop now, before a bad crash or pedestrian fatality occurs.
  • 1501-1899 Entrance Rd Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Alta Star Harbor development has placed signs prohibiting parking from 6am to 6pm along 3 car parking spaces at the south east end of their building and is using those spaces to store unsightly dumpters which face the front doors of the Marina Shores residents along Entrace Road between Buena Vista and Clement. I do not believe the no parking signs are city installed as I have not seen this format or parking restriction type elsewhere in Alameda. I also believe that city code requires that garbage containers not be stored on the street other than on collection days.
  • 1500-1898 Entrance Rd Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda
Alta Star Harbor (Del Monte building) is a commercial multi-family premises. They are consistently placing their garbage container on Entrance Road for collection in contravention of Alameda Municipal Code Chapter XXI Article II 21.24(b) b which requires that "Multi-Family and Commercial Premises. Multi-family and commercial occupants shall be responsible for placing all solid waste, recyclable materials, and organic materials containers in a location on their premises agreed upon by the customer and the franchisee. Occupants shall not place or store containers on or in any public street, sidewalk, footpath, or public place.
Alta Star Harbor is creating a community noise and smell nuisance for their residential neighbors on Entrace Road, whereas they could elect to have ACI collect these garbage containers from their own parking area along Clement creating no nuisance.
  • Stanton St & Buena Vista Ave Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda

    Hi -

Please consider putting in a crosswalk similar to https://lanelight.com/crosswalks-rrfb/ at Buena Vista & Stanton.

Too many drivers use this street like a highway and we have had challenges crossing the street and when we are able to cross drivers don't slow down. Having the flashing lights would draw attention that there is/are pedestrian(s) trying to cross the street.

The safety of Alameda residents and guests appreciate this.

    Thanks.
    JK

  • Pacific Ave. At Paru St - Alameda
Please make Paru/Pacific a 4-way stop. Cars speed through the stop signs on Pacific and we have witnessed many collision close calls at this intersection.
  • Buena Vista Ave & Grand St Alameda, CA, 94501, USA - Alameda

We propose that the City of Alameda put speed bumps about a block away from the intersection of Grand St. and Buena Vista due to constant accidents. My husband installed a corner camera, and we have captured three accidents, including a car that hit our house on 5/4/2023; luckily, my son, who was sitting in his living was not hurt, but it's causing us unnecessary inconvenience. The insurance tags the damage as a major loss (over $100K.) It's a daily occurrence that drivers are speeding through and running red lights and causing accidents. Just yesterday, 5/13/2023, a tow truck driver ran the red light causing a significant accident with both drivers taken away by ambulance.

For safety reasons, the City of Alameda should consider placing speed bumps as an alternative to slow down speeding vehicles.

  • Sherman Street At Wind River Del Monte Building Alameda, California - Alameda
There were a number of homeless encampments growing at the rear of the Wind River parking lot and inside the fenced off open field area between Wind River and Del Monte building. Police worked with these folks and eventually had them leave this week and cleaned up all garbage left. Some have returned but now have cut a large hole in the fence and are camping inside the fenced area. They also cut the gate lock to the fenced area.
  • 1542 Buena Vista Ave Alameda, California - Alameda
Most of the traffic on Buena Vista Ave between Sherman and Grand is in excess of the posted speed limit. This has gotten worse with the recent development in front of Fortmann Marina and the lack of controls is endangering the health and property of the community. Please confirm the need for some type of control ( Sign / Light / Bumps, etc...) on this section of city road to reduce the risk to the community and the city. Thank you...
