Notified About

  • Pearl Street Cambridge, Massachusetts - Cambridgeport
The major snow emergency routes throughout Cambridgeport (Putnam, Magazine, Pearl, Brookline) have barely been plowed! I am shocked not to have seen a snow removal vehicle since early Friday morning. Compared to other parts of the city, nearby cities (e.g. Watertown) and Cambridge's historic effectiveness at ensuring streets are passable, the Cambridgeport neighborhood seems to have been forgotten this week. There will certainly be problems once school buses are trying to navigate tomorrow, and this should be anticipated and avoided.
  • Bike Rack Request Acknowledged
564 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02139, USA - Cambridgeport
More bike racks in front of Target would be useful, given that it is one of the primary grocery stores in the area. The current racks in front of Target are regularly full during peak hours. There are other available racks in the Central Square area, but having to go to those while carrying groceries is less convenient.
  • 730 Memorial Drive Cambridge, Massachusetts - Cambridgeport
There is poor drainage at the entrance to the Trader Joe's/Micro Center parking lot, right where the sidewalk/bike path crosses. It floods every time it rains and in the cold weather it freezes, making an impossible spot for bikes and pedestrians. It's not easy to just cross to the other side of Memorial Drive, I am forced to either bike with car traffic or get my feet and wheels (and brakes) covered in water and ice - very unsafe either way. Flooding at this spot has been an issue for a long time, I don't know why it has never been addressed.

    Dear City of Cambridge,
We the public respectfully ask that when plowing the snow you first and foremost plow ALL bike lanes before any other city owned infrastructure. Cyclists are the most vulnerable of road users and the city's Mission Zero requires that the cyclists and their lanes be made the #1 top priority for plowing.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I live in Central square and it’s been almost a week( starting from May 25th) that there are multiple really loud firecracker and fireworks noises every nights (7pm-2am) from north(Mid-Cambridge). It’s really loud that I’m sure all my neighbor communities in Cambridge and even Somerville can hear it too. It def passed beyond the noise control level. I’m ok with some of them before 11PM but it just seems really strange to have firecracker noise in the sky multiple times per night at around 12AM and 1AM still, like today(May 28th). It completely destroys my sleep for the whole week but I had no clue what those loud fireworks noise’s for. Could you please take a look at the firework noise that’s been happening everyday from May 25th in Cambridge? Many thanks!

  • 38–66 Brookline St Cambridge 02139, United States - Cambridgeport
This intersection needs a 4-way stop. Traffic on Brookline is much too fast. Cars on Franklin who are either crossing or turning onto Brookline often don’t realize Brookline does not have a stop sign. A dangerous collision happened just today. And it happens every so often. Perhaps other traffic calming treatments are needed if a 4-way stop is not warranted
  • 148 Pleasant Street Cambridge, MA - Cambridgeport
After recent sidewalk crossing repairs, water pools at the corner of Putnam and Pleasant Streets. Water does not drain until it becomes very deep water. There was not a problem with draining prior to these repairs. The sidewalk is angled at each crossing so the water pours away from the street, not towards the street. This can be fixed if the sidewalk is angled back to be lower towards the street than the house there - which will result in pedestrians not having to walk into the street to avoid the flooded area.

On Monday morning Nov 9, ~7:00 AM, a car (or truck) with an extremely loud loudspeaker announced alternate side of the street parking warnings for street cleaning up and down the neighborhood. This non-emergency public announcement woke up my child - and probably every other child in the area - well before they needed to be woken up for remote schooling. If you must provide them, please confine these obnoxious, roving announcements to business hours (9A-5P) and don't wake up the whole neighborhood at the crack of dawn. Thank you.

For most of day, incredibly loud low whine emanating from this building. Can be heard from inside my apartment 5 blocks away. Have video footage indicating how loud the sound is from next to this building.

This entire area is being used on a daily basis as a bathroom. Urine is often visible and area smells like it too.

Thank you for power washing in the past- it absolutely helps.

Please do whatever you can to help. There are a group of people that are using this area to loiter and have been doing so for over a month now. They drink, yell, and are intimidating to people walking by to get to the library and also to use the sidewalk. This area needs to be closed up permanently. It is a waste of city resources and finances to have to continually deep clean this area.

    In the meantime, please clean.

Can we also request to have police put this area on their watchlist.

    Thank you.

Crosswalk light has not been working for a very long time and still not busy. It works on one side, but not the other side.
