1129 S Kansas Ave Topeka, Kansas - City of Topeka Council District 1Very Deep Potholes in the alley of the 1100 Block of Kansas on the West side of the street, behind Azura Credit Union.
915 Southwest Tyler Street Topeka, Kansas - City of Topeka Council District 1
In the alley in between the sides streets of Polk and Tyler & Blocks of 9th & 10th, there are two very large potholes that need filled because they have begun to break out causing a hazard. That alley way is used by many residents of the area to access their parking.
Sw 25th And Sw Fairlawn Topeka, Kansas - City of Topeka Council District 8There is a light for this crossing in a 40 mph street. The first signs for the light is about 1/4 block from the crosswalk. SW Fairlawn is a very busy street. The school children used to go to school at McClure were from the west side of Fairlawn. The children who went to Crestview. The deal with this is that kids didn't cross the crazy busy SW Fairlawn Street. The sign (when you are driving south is covered by tree leaves - now the leaves are coming down - thank goodness) is so close to the crosswalk it is almost laughable (if you don't care about children). I know that many busy streets have speed limit changes. SW Fairlawn is 40 mph...CRAZY! I know some places that are busy have flashing lights. This place doesn't. Some places have flashing lights and stop lights. This intersection has a stop light. Not enough warning about the crosswalk. Kids are careful, but they are kids. Most of them aren't on their phones (like the drivers are) or eating a sandwich (they are walking home from school - excited about getting home to their pet). PLEASE look at this intersection. Please drive there both ways. Going south and then going north on SW Fairlawn. Ask yourself would you want your children walking across there at a busy time. Looked at the distances of the crosswalks from schools. Not a set distance either. Thank you for your time. I think our city commissioners and workers do an excellent job. I don't complain about most things. This scares the you-know-what out of me. I called 501 and they said no-one will listen to them. That seems crazy because they are our children's educators and protectors. Thank you again. I look forward to hearing from you. I have called your office before. My daughter in law has called. We just wan to protect our kids!!! All kids!!!!
1352 Sw High Ave Topeka, KS, 66604, USA - City of Topeka Council District 6House consistently has large gatherings for Young Life, a college organization. Sign on window on meeting nights says “Young Life College, Young Life tonight.” This evening 2/25, over 20 cars jammed the street, creating parking issues and issues with people getting access to their own driveways. This is the same organization that was holding Tuesday meetings at houses in College Hill before the city put an end to it.
601-615 Southwest 9th Street Topeka, Kansas - City of Topeka Council District 1
Hello, there is a very large pothole that needs to be filled at the entry/exit of the alleyway. I have previously reported the other two that are a little south of there in the alleyway so I wanted to make sure this one also gets added to the work order.
1921-1935 Sw Collins Ave Topeka, KS 66604, USA - City of Topeka Council District 6Abandoned 25 years ago. Getting extremely unpainted and rotten. Can be rebuilt if sold. Does not need the city to tear it down.
421-433 Sw Woodlawn Ave Topeka, KS 66606, USA - City of Topeka Council District 1in front of 424 Greenwood are a couple huge potholes that are becoming driving hazards. they were marked at one point with paint in the hopes of repair, but the paint has since faded with no work done. please fix.
1518 Nw Grove Ave. Topeka, KS - City of Topeka Council District 1About a 6-foot piece of my concrete curb fell into the street about 10 years ago. Another section is slipping down. I have reported it many times over the years.
1344 Sw High Ave Topeka, KS, 66604, USA - City of Topeka Council District 6
Gold Toyota parked in front of (and owned by) 1344 SW High Ave.
Vehicle was parked in street at 3:00 pm Friday afternoon (9/27). As of 3:00 on 9/30, it is still in the street and has not been used/moved. They are now a full 24 hours in excess of the 48 hours allowed by city ordinance.
I'm not sure why these folks continue to thumb their nose at the parking ordinance. TPD has visited with/educated them on the ordinance. Maybe it's the counting to 48 that they struggle with. Maybe a parking ticket would help them figure it out.
Per City Code:
10.60.100 Parking more than 48 hours.
It shall be unlawful for any person to park or permit the parking, storing or standing of any vehicle upon any public street or street parking in the city for any continuous period of more than 48 hours. Any motor vehicle which shall have been found to have remained parked, stored or located upon any of the public streets or parkings of the city for a continuous period of more than 48 hours shall be deemed a public nuisance and such nuisance may be abated in the manner provided in this article.
615 Sw Jewell Ave Topeka, KS 66606, USA - City of Topeka Council District 1The public sidewalk on the east side of the 600 block of Jewell Avenue is in a state of severe disrepair. The sidewalk has many significantly uneven sections, large cracks, and tall weeds and grass growing aggressively through the sections. Entire stretches of the sidewalk are now more cracks and weeds than they are intact concrete. For individuals in a wheelchair or who are unsteady on their feet, this sidewalk presents multiple mobility challenges. This is not a new issue (it's been rough for years) but the weeds and general deterioration have accelerated over the summer months. It is unacceptable for a sidewalk connected to a healthcare facility and owned by a corporate entity with sufficient funds to properly maintain their property to allow the sidewalk they are legally obligated to maintain to remain in this condition.
2000 Southwest Atwood Avenue Topeka, Kansas - City of Topeka Council District 6Abandon, boarded up, half burned house is a deep eye sore to the neighborhood. Can't something be done to improve the lot?
Sw 29th St Topeka 66614, United States - City of Topeka Council District 7This signal heading west on 29th street just past the intersection at Fairlawn . It holds those heading west much longer than is necessary. The traffic easily backs up into the intersection. The left turn arrow from 29th Street onto the i470 is what is staying green. The eastbound traffic rolls right along, it is just the westbound traffic.
Regardless of the time, day or night this is happening. A few nights ago I was stuck at this light for many minutes and there was no one even on the road but me - let alone multitudes turning onto the highway.
