I commute from North to South on Route 100 daily from Wardsboro VT to West Dover which is maintained by 2 districts and a vast climate and elevation change within the 20 miles on Route 100. The road conditions on this route during and after winter weather is as variable as the climate and elevation.

    Every time it rains or snows, a huge, ankle-deep puddle forms spanning the crosswalk on the northwest corner of Main St and High St. This is because the storm drain just to the north of the crosswalk is set several inches higher than the beginning of the crosswalk. It needs to be re-engineered either by raising the crosswalk, or relocating the storm drain to the low point in the beginning of the crosswalk.

    This road is a car accident waiting to happen, a fatal one at that. With all the holes snow becomes ice and is hard to get rid of. Plowing leaves an inch on the surface due to the plows hitting holes. When my car breaks or my tire goes flat and needs to be towed, I'll send my bill to the state.
