Notified About

  • 4212 Urn Street Capitol Heights, MD 20743, USA - Capitol Heights
I first reported to ClickFix in 2010. We've had a bad infestation of asian tiger mosquitoes in our neighborhood for the past 8 years. I had spoken about the issue with our county executive at the time, Jack Johnson, while he was visiting with ABC's Extreme Home Makeover crew down the street in 2005. He assured us tthat the problem would be taken c are of. After numerous follow-up calls and lots of run-around, nothing has been done and the issue has only gotten worse. I can't enjoy my yard or garden anymore. Mosquito repellant doesn't seem to work on them. The picture below is the result of 5 minutes spent picking a few tomatoes from our garden. That's a lot of bites, yet only shows the back of my calf. My entire body was covered by bites. Please HELP! I've contacted our new county executive, Rushern Baker, about this and other issues, but he doesn't stem to respond unless you are a developer
  • Pedestrian Crossing West Hyattsville, MD - Ward 5
At the intersection of Ager Rd and Hamilton Street (right in front of the KFC) there is a "pocket" for cars making the right turn from Hamilton to Ager. Most drivers treat as an invitation to accelerate into the turn, ignoring the fact that pedestrians crossing Ager Road (many either going to or coming from the West Hyattsville Metro Station) have the right of way.
While there is a YIELD sign advising motorists making the right to yield to traffic on Ager Road. there should be a sign advising motorists to yield to pedestrians attempting to cross Ager Road.
The exisence of this dedicated "right tun pocket" is a big part of the problem. If it did not exist I am sure motorists would exercise more caution in yielding to pedestrians.
  • 7778-7792 Adelphi Rd College Park, MD 20740, USA - College Park

Turning onto University Blvd from Adelphi road is confusing, as no turns are allowed at the intersection itself. However, the signs at this intersection showing drivers where to turn are completely inadequate.

Two of the signs indicating the turn onto 193 are tiny and poorly placed -- nobody looking for the turn would see them until it's too late to change lanes. The other signs indicating the turn are missing altogether (look at the bent signposts with no signs attached.)

  • 3101 Branch Ave Temple Hills, MD 20748, USA - Hillcrest Heights
There are no pedestrian crosswalks nor walk/don't walk signs croass Branch Av, leaving the Naylor Rd. Metro. There is a strip mall directly across Branch Av from the Metro. Pedestrians cross Branch Av, and are having to contend with left turning vehicles, and Metrobuses onto Branch Avenue. Signage, plus painted crosswalks on Branch Av. would assist pedestrians who have to reach the other side of Branch Avenue.
  • Guinevere Road Glenn Dale, MD - Glenn Dale
Snow plow leave a huge mound of snow in front of my driveway and the snow plow operators refuse to move this snow, although they could have easily plowed it off of the street, not leaving me plowed in!
7-18-11 I have NEVER received a response from anyone in the PG Co govt. about this issue. I don't consider the issue resolved and don't consider this as acceptable government!
  • 6401–6499 Sentinel Dr Hyattsville 20782, United States - Ward 3
Please install a crosswalk at Editors Park Drive and Sentinel Ave. The absence of a crosswalk creates a hazard for residents of the area AND school children attending Nicholas Orem. Cars are reluctant to stop for pedestrians.
  • 5709 Hiland Avenue Lanham-Seabrook, MD 20706, USA - Glenn Dale
excess dumping of tires, traffic signs, bikes, tv's, etc. need to be removed to allow wildlife safe sanctity. in addition, the beaver continue to dam up the water tunnels thereby preventing a steady water flow between both sides of the waterway. lastly, the community is looking for help in beautifying this protected sanctity so county residents can watch, enjoy, & appreciate the vast array of wildlife that visit our area.
  • 3907 Jefferson St Hyattsville 20781, United States - Ward 2
Vehicle traffic exceeding the speed limit, passing illegally.
  • 9348 Cherry Hill Road College Park, MD - College Park
Worst intersection design I have ever seen, at the intersection of Route 1 and Cherry Hill Road, which is asking for accidents to happen here. Despite having two left turn lanes, the green lights do not give freedom to make a left hand turn safely from oncoming traffic coming from the small gas station. At worst, the light turning cycle should be improved such that the left lanes have green left turn signals and there should be a separate light at the gas station to allow for safe passage through the intersection. At best, the whole intersection needs to be redesigned.
  • Research Road Greenbelt, MD - Prince George's County
There is a gate located at the top of Research Road separating "old" Greenbelt from the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC), which was replaced in late May 2011. Before this time, for as long as anyone can recall, pedestrians and bikers were allowed to use the roughly one-mile gated road section for low-impact recreation when it was closed to thru-traffic (nights, weekends, holidays). This is a lovely natural, peaceful setting where herons, foxes, deer, eagles, beavers, snakes, otters, rabbits, muskrats, geese, ducks and other wildlife can be sighted. Many Greenbelt residents walked or biked this road, not impeding on any research activities or otherwise disturbing the area. Before May there was even a side opening on the gate where people could pass through during its locked hours and further, it wasn't difficult to slide a bike under the old gate. After the new gate was installed, however, the pass-through was covered over and in July a sign was posted indicating "No trespassing" when the road is closed to vehicular traffic. Word trickling back from BARC is that the changes are "security" related, but it has been difficult to get a dialogue or real response from them. Also, it should be noted that there is another gate approximately one mile down Research Road (intersecting Beaverdam Road) which is left open. Greenbelt residents get the impression that it is them in particular that are being denied access. This new gate was installed without any notice to Greenbelt or its Council or any indication something was amiss. Greenbelt residents, me very much included, would like the pedestrian pass-through re-opened and for walkers & bikers to be permitted by BARC to once again use this roughly one-mile section of Research Road when it is closed to vehicles. We love and treasure this bucolic, peaceful locale very much and would like to continue to use it as we have for decades.
  • 6339-6399 Belcrest Rd Hyattsville, MD, 20782, USA - Ward 3
Drivers do not yield for pedestrians and often drive very fast. Request for better signs or a speed bump at the crosswalks near metro and on Belcrest Road.
  • 6011 Emerson St. Bladensburg, MD - Bladensburg
Parkway Condominiums doesn't have recycling dumpsters - why?
