Sidewalk and Ramp Archived615 Sw Jewell Ave Topeka, KS 66606, USA - City of Topeka Council District 1The public sidewalk on the east side of the 600 block of Jewell Avenue is in a state of severe disrepair. The sidewalk has many significantly uneven sections, large cracks, and tall weeds and grass growing aggressively through the sections. Entire stretches of the sidewalk are now more cracks and weeds than they are intact concrete. For individuals in a wheelchair or who are unsteady on their feet, this sidewalk presents multiple mobility challenges. This is not a new issue (it's been rough for years) but the weeds and general deterioration have accelerated over the summer months. It is unacceptable for a sidewalk connected to a healthcare facility and owned by a corporate entity with sufficient funds to properly maintain their property to allow the sidewalk they are legally obligated to maintain to remain in this condition.

737 Sw College Ave Topeka, KS, 66606, USA - City of Topeka Council District 1I’ve attached your county photo from 2016 and this house was boarded up then! This person does not maintain their house. The gutters are off, the trees are growing everywhere, grass is overgrown, graffiti was sprayed on the back door (thAt I personally painted over bc it was inappropriate). How can this person continue to keep this house like this? I just purchased the house right next door. Topeka—clean stuff like this up. I’m doing my part by purchasing property and cleaning up. He shouldn’t be allowed to have a boarded up run down house on a block that is looking so great.

Police Animal Control Archived701 Sw College Ave Topeka, Kansas, 66606 - City of Topeka Council District 1owner of property does not live at this empty house and leaves 2 adult German shepherds for days at a time without returning to the home. One dog is inside and the other is kept locked on the back porch which is unheated, old and primitive. The owner goes nearly a week between visits to the house and no one else comes to care for the dogs. The dog on the back porch barks and tries to break out of the porch area for hours each day. I'm not sure what you can do but with very cold weather ahead, it would be good to let the owner know what her responsibilities are regarding the dog on the back porch. I have the owner's contact info but am hesitant to reach out as she was semi- abrasive in the only conversation I've had with her last Fall. She's owned the house since August 2024 and never moved in though she's had the dogs there since September. The frequency of her visits has declined in recent weeks and the dog locked on the porch situation has been happening for the past several weeks.

914 Sw Lindenwood Ave Topeka, Kansas, 66606 - City of Topeka Council District 1
Owners have built a piece-meal fence of sorts out of various items. It looks like something out of Sandford & Son.
The truck & trailer that usually parks there overnight has been parking on the property directly behind their house in their back yard.

Police General Issue Archived919 Sw Jewell Ave Topeka KS 66606, United States - City of Topeka Council District 1This punk rides wheelies up and down the alley multiple times (up to 20 times!) per afternoon, revving the throttle incessantly. He makes a strange whooping noise when he is directly behind my fence. He does this only when I am in my back yard working in my garden.
He also rides wheelies up and down Lindenwood and all over the neighborhood with zero regard for residents, their children and our pets.
He called me a b!tch yesterday for recording him then proceeded to pull his phone out to record himself breaking the law as he repeatedly passed my location pointing his camera toward me and my yard in the background.
I have this all on video.
My backyard is a place where I am supposed to have reasonable expectation of privacy.
The alley is NOT a place where he is entitled to reasonable expectation of privacy - as alleys are part of the public domain. It is not unlawful for me to record his transgressions in the public domain but it is against the law for him to harass me and attempt to intimidate me.
This has been going on for a couple years now and I have had enough. Please tend to this ongoing problem as it has now escalated into overt harassment. -
615 Sw Jewell Topeka, Kansas - City of Topeka Council District 1Tenant has knocked wall out of NW corner of house and the yard is covered with trash. Household trash is littered all over west and north yard. Back porch is overflowing with trash and even more in alley.

930 Sw Jewell Ave - City of Topeka Council District 1This property caught fire this week. There is still an individual staying at the property even though the fire completely destroyed the home. When the individual is not causing havoc in the yard, he’s sleeping or sitting in the truck in the driveway. It’s unsafe for anyone to be in this home and the yard all night long. This morning there was a small fire in the backyard where this individual was Burning something.
