Private Property Issue Archived145 Blake St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Beaver HillsWHEN will the gas station on the corner of Osborn Avenue and Blake Street be taken care of? It is a complete disgrace to the neighborhood. If it isn't going to be thrown down or dealt with, at least clean it up. How many times must the neighbors complain about this? It is a total eyesore and continues to make the entire neighborhood look bad.

Graffiti - Extremely Disturbing Archived677 Elm Street New Haven Connecticut - Edgewood
Someone has spray-painted the N word on a house. I'm not exactly sure of the street number, but I think it was 677/678 or around there.
This needs to be cleaned up immediately and investigated by police. Also calling the non-emergency line.

Whalley Ave And Ella Grasso Blvd New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
ANOTHER car accident at the intersection of Whalley Ave and Ella Grasso BLVD. I have lived here for over 10 years and there is an average of 1 car accident a week and I see at least 1 -2 near misses a day.
The complaints on SEECLICKFIX, as well as multiple complaints to the city are NUMEROUS and go back YEARS.
How much longer until someone gets killed here, and the city gets sued for millions of taxpayer dollars?
If this gets closed before the intersection is fixed and turn signals are installed I'm just going to keep re-opening it.

Music Venue Archived35 W Park Ave New Haven, CT 06511, USA - EdgewoodDoes anyone know when the new music venue has to stop playing music? It's 10 pm and I'm not even nearly as close as most of my neighbors to this new experiment, but the music is in my backyard and in my house despite having the TV on at a higher volume than normal. Is this our new weekend normal?? If so is the Westville Music bowl going to pay my taxes for the interruption of the quiet enjoyment of my property?

Abandoned Gas Station ArchivedOsborn Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver HillsThere is an abandoned gas station at the corner of Osborn Avenue and Blake. Neighbors have complained about this gas station for years and nothing is done about it. Now, it is full of leaves, garbage and someone sprayed graffiti all over it. It looks AWFUL and gives the neighborhood a bad feel. We are sick of this. This property either needs to be cleaned up or more importantly thrown down and maybe a nice park put in its place. We take pride in this neighborhood and this gas station just doesn't belong here.

Illegal Dumping ArchivedJewell St New Haven, Connecticut, 06515 - Beaver HillsBroken furniture, trash, construction debris in a trailer dumped on Jewell St, including mattresses in the street. Neighbors pick up trash to try to keep the area clean, but this is beyond what we can manage. This is distressing for visitors to Jewish cemeteries! Please clean this up.

Traffic Signal / Pedestrian Signal ArchivedWhalley Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver HillsAll the traffic lights throughout New Haven are a problem, but especially on Whalley Ave from one end to the other. New Haven is in love with traffic lights, and many should either not be there, or turned to flashing, especially at night. Sitting at a light with no traffic at 3 AM is exasperating. And "no turn on red" signs everywhere, where it's pointless. No wonder people run the lights.

499 Ellsworth Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Beaver HillsCan't we please get a couple of speed bumps placed on Ellsworth Ave between Whalley and Goff? This long block is out of control. Drivers try to see how fast they can go from zero to 60, to make the green light at the other end. I've sent complaints constantly for several years now--to the alder, the police chief, and the mayor--and get no reply. Once, when I called the police, they sent out a patrol car and stopped a bunch of drivers--but once every other year is not going to stop it. We need relief here.

Winthrop And Goffe Street New Haven Connecticut - Beaver Hills
One of the Beaver Hills neighborhood gateway brick piers has been toppled over, presumably by accident by one of the machines/vehicles milling the street the week of July 4th, 2018. While the pier is located on private property, I suspect that it is the City's responsibility to repair the pier in this instance since it likely resulted from their road milling efforts. [EDIT: Apparently, the brick pier was damaged in a car accident. Would it then be up to the property owner of 590 Winthrop Avenue to pursue property damages from the vehicle operator who was at fault?]
The brick piers are an important component of the Beaver Hills Historic District, which is registered on the National Register of Historic Districts. 590 Winthrop Avenue, the property the pier is located on, is a contributing structure to the historic district.
