Notified About

  • 600 5th Street Oakland California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
This is a modern day Hooverville. This should not be happening on the fringes of one of the richest cities in America. It is an outrage. If the structures of our culture have failed so many people that there's a shanty town on the sidewalk then the city needs to acknowledge the problem and create a space for them to camp that includes services like trash removal and toilets rather than just allowing these sidewalk camps to spread. It's reached the point where pedestrian access is completely blocked and piles of garbage are blocking a whole lane of traffic. These people aren't just the few that fall through the cracks they are an entire community. They are people who have been evicted and lost work and have nowhere to go. This is not normal! I understand that this situation is complicated and hard for the city to deal with but it should not just be ignored. We have been so patient with this but it keeps getting worse and as months pass it's having a very negative effect on our community. We don't want the cops to come in and break it up, it just forms again a day later on the other side of the street. We want these people to be given a place to be, some dignity and basic services.

This has been going on for months!!! Now it appears that they have purposely put a obstruction to block pedestrians so we have to walk in the middle of the street. This problem is a complete joke

  • Webster St Oakland 94607, United States - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Massive amount of debris has accumulated beneath I-880. No longer possible to walk on sidewalk. Huge amount of flammable material seems dangerous to human beings living below, cars parked all around, and thousands of cars traveling on highway above. Why does this persist unaddressed?
  • 287–299 5th St Oakland 94607, United States - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Homeless encampment has exploded over past few days, blocks the sidewalk from corner to corner and spills into the street.

Webster At 5th Oakland, California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
This situation is crazy. The entire eastern sidewalk of Webster is totally blocked underneath 880 forcing pedestrians to walk in the street. This has been going on for a long time (months!) and is now unbearable. It is easily the worst spot in the Jack London area
  • Martin Luther King Jr Way & 6th St Oakland, CA 94607, USA - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
there is a new homeless tent on the 6th side of Jefferson Park at the corner of MLK. it's blocking the sidewalk. pedestrians must walk on the street against oncoming traffic
  • 548 Webster Street Oakland, California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
West side Webster sidewalks are completely blocked forcing pedestrians into traffic on Webster street. There is a bicycle chop shop there with tents that spread across the whole sidewalk and into the street. This is very dangerous for pedestrians as cars in the bright sun can't see well in the shadows under the bridge and won't be able to see people forced to walk in the road.
  • 11th St At Castro Oakland, California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Homeless people have cut the fence in 2 places & are living behind it. Dumping all kinds of garbage & trash. So unhealthy & filthy.

314 Broadway Oakland, California - Old City-Produce And Waterfront
Homeless man is taking up 80% of the side walk with his shopping carts. Every day that I walk by the shopping carts grow outwards from the wall to the point we’re he is almost taking up the entire sidewalk now. I would estimate he has between 12-15 shopping carts on the side walk. It is right next to 314 Broadway st next door to dominos pizza.
