Westville Neighborhood

The preschool at 3 Tour Avenue would like access to the river walk, located next to the playground at 29 Tour Avenue. We would like an opening created in the metal fence along Tour Avenue. This way, we can easily take our preschoolers for walks along the river or over to the playground on Blake Street. We would also appreciate a dedicated crosswalk on Tour from our playground to the river walk. We thank the city in advance for making this happen!

Second crash in as many months this morning at Willard & Central. An all-way stop would be much safer!

The recent paving project left a patch of road, approximately 15 feet long, unpaved, with raised manholes exposed. This road hazard has been present for about three weeks now. When will it be fixed?

When our kids hosted families from other communities for New Haven Youth soccer games this weekend, this is what our kids and their kids were forced to play in/on.

Traffic trajectory lines are needed due to the three lanes on Whalley Avenue not lining up with the three lanes after crossing West Rock Ave. traffic light. This issue has the potential to cause serious accidents with confused drivers merging into the same lane, believing that are each appropriate. Trajectory lines would easily remedy this issue.

As I was trying to enjoy a quiet evening stroll this afternoon in Edgewood Park by the river with my 4 year old child, away from the horrible and constant noise of the quads and dirtbikes all up and down Edgewood Ave and surrounding streets, I was shocked to see one quad and one dirt bike reeming at full speed directly onto our path INSIDE THE PARK, which I have not experienced in the past years since the quads and dirt bikes took over our tax paying neighborhood. Thankfully I had my child's hand, otherwise he probably would have been crushed under their wheels after running away from the fear of the noise. The quad and dirt bike riders ripped past us and faded in the distance of the other side of the park before they came back AGAIN full speed. I then proceeded to choke on their diesel fumes. As we exited the park, we could tell the bikes continued their rides from one end of the park to the other. I can't even go to the park to breathe fresh air without having their fumes in my face. My son can't enjoy the natural oasis that this park once was without being threatened by high speed motor vehicles. PLEASE DO SOMETHING. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I AM A TAX PAYING CITIZEN AND I WANT THIS TO BE FIXED, NOW! it has been YEARS and I know for a FACT I am not the only one in my neighborhood to be FED UP.

This is a health department, public sanitation, and public safety issue. There is a bridge (?) at 610 Edgewood where stairs go down into the park to get to the playing fields (where kids and adults alike play soccer). There is an encampment set up there (under the bridge) and lots of drug related material on the ground on the overgrown path to the field as well as around the bridge. Feels really unsafe for kids heading to practice solo. The weeds need to be trimmed on the path as well.

I tried to pump up my bike tire this morning but instead deflated the tire because the pump at the parks department is broken.

While I'm grateful for the new surface on Yale Ave, and also appreciative of the attempt to slow traffic and protect bikers, I'm afraid the new striping solution is very problematic. The "floating" parking spots are very dangerous, especially for kids going to Edgewood School. At night, I would never dare park my car in those spots because they are right in the middle of the avenue. Again, I understand the intention, but this solution just doesn't make sense for this road. It's dangerous.
