Notified About

  • Boston Ave & High St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
There is very little traffic regulation at the intersection of Boston Avenue and High Street, making it a very dangerous intersection. Drivers speed through the intersection from either direction, often times not yielding to pedestrians on the crosswalks. The right-hand turn from High Street to Boston avenue is particularly dangerous with how fast people take the turn.
  • 5 Usher Rd Medford, MA 02155, USA - Medford
At least a few times a year, twice in last two months, Usher road floods during storms. Sometimes it's cause by leaves clogging drains, but other times drains are clear and the system just can't handle amount of water. There's only two drains at the bottom of the hill that need to handle all the water from Usher and when other streets in the area backup it comes like a river from both directions on Playstead. I know it's not an easy fix, but is there something that can be done, or what steps can residents take to start the process of getting something done? Either additional drains further up hill that won't get clogged, or for when leaves are not the issue are there pumps down the line that could be turned on sooner if there are pumps? Cars on Street food and houses food occasionally as well. just got done clearing drains at 3am.
  • Jackson Rd & Sagamore Ave Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford

Bad intersection geometry made worse by too few stop signs and bad stop sign locations with no stop lines on the ones we have.

I've written to City Traffic Engineer, Mr Blake, but wanted to record the issue here, too.

Drivers from Jackson Road cruise through this intersection without stopping (because they have no stop sign) and then angle themselves at a strange slant so as to ignore the stop on Sagamore. Same for drivers going Lakeview to Jackson, they have no stop and they drive fast and at a strange angle.

Drivers on Sagamore Ave also seldom stop because the Stop signs are poorly located, hard to see, and don't really "make sense" compared to the vibes that the intersection sends of "you have the right of way on the big, straight street" and stopping here is "mid block" or "too late"

Probably needs stop sign on Lakeview in the short term, better paint (stop lines, crosswalk @ school bus stop) in the medium term, and curb and sidewalk changes in the long term.

  • 24 Sagamore Park Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
flattened aluminum can on newly paved roadway
  • 2-10 Grove St Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford

Grove St drivers can't see STOP sign at High Street.

Indicated by the yellow "starburst" in the included photo, the Stop sign is invisible, partly due to low tree branches, partly due the curve as Grove "points at" Boston Ave. Curve here puts the stop sign "around the corner"

I Suggest both a "Stop Ahead" sign and a stop sign on Left side of roadway. Might create a separate issue for the Tree Warden to trim up the trees here.

30 Pitcher Ave Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
Three street trees on Pitcher Ave have branches that are too low (hit by cars in the street, hitting pedestrians on the sidewalk)
15 Pitcher Ave, 21 Pitcher Ave, and 30 Pitcher Ave (in initial report image)
  • Oak Ridge Rd Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
I have visited the DPW twice since April of 2019 regarding missing STOP and stop line templates at each of the four existing STOP signs. Initially I was told that there was a backlog because of rainy conditions was informed by email over a year ago that my request would be "First on the list". This is a cut through between Grove Street and the Mystic Valley Parkway and without these painted templates motorists fly through as if the signs are invisible. I don't understand how such a simple request can not be acknowledged or completed within a year's timeframe.
  • Pitcher Ave Medford, MA, 02155, USA - Medford
It's almost 5:00pm, and we have not had yard waste pickup. The left side of the street has also not had recycling pickup.

Tree Warden Issue: Low branches on tree on Grove St nearest High St @ Boston Ave. Low branches make it hard to see the Stop sign specifically (and the intersection generally).

Could the Tree Warden take another look at this long-suffering Norway Maple? It has now had its roots cut on the left, right, and streetside, and already had significant rot at the base, and I worry about it falling when the leaves are next caught by the wind.

She (The Warden's team) has already trimmed the crown to lighten the load due to a 5-year old bark gash that killed the cambium on the street side. A valiant effort.

But the injuries have continued: Sadly, this year's water-line replacement & gas-line replacement have now cut the roots on the left and right (in photo). It may be time to take it down before it falls over.

  • 2–32 Monument St Medford MA 02155, United States - Medford

The roots of a tree (now cut down) have raised a portion of the sidewalk, making it a tripping hazard.

It is the second tree from High St on the even side of Monument

Again it's trash and recycling day and waste management has picked up trash but not recycling. they appear to have missed a lot of houses and recycling. our recycling is in two barrels (we rent an extra one) and both are full to the top. please collect our recycling.
