Notified About

  • Traffic Signals Acknowledged
457-461 Lafayette St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
Flashing light for people walking the bike path to cross Lafayette close to the lead mills and Salem/Marblehead line. Unfortunately drivers completely ignore the light. We get halfway across when one side of traffic stops but people speed through on the other side, nearly hitting us. This should be a full traffic light, not a flashing orange light.

Broad St & Phelps St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem

There's a really bad issue of speeding cars along Broad St. Cars regularly go way above the speed limit and DO NOT slow down for pedestrians. Living along this street is extremely unsafe for residents.

We've brought up this issue before and even had a town meeting because of it months ago. We were told that protected bike lanes will be added to narrow the road and discourage speeding, as well as speed bumps and crosswalk signs BUT NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE.

132 Bridge St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
Bridge Street Speed Limit Enforcement. With no speed bumps, one traffic light, and houses very close to the street, it seems that Bridge Street speed limit should be reviewed, maybe dropped, and enforced. Traffic flies down Bridge. If we localized this stretch with stop signs, bike lane, larger shoulders maybe more thru-traffic would use the Bypass. Would love to learn more about how to help make these changes!

108 Congress St Salem MA 01970, United States - City of Salem
This container is in the bike lane.
    It's within 10 feet of a crosswalk.
    It's within 20 feet of a corner.
It's really scary heading to Palmer Cove on bicycle when traffic coming from the right can't see you and you can't see it, there's zero visibility.
  • Graffiti Archived
Forest River Park West Ave, Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
Graffiti all over the place by the abandoned tennis courts. Kids are also graffitiing their trees which is disappointing.
  • Willson St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
With all the traffic backing up on Willson St for Covid testing, wouldn't it be a good idea to remove the bike barriers and allow all the additional cars to line up in that lane? Right now, once the lot is full, cars have no place to go. Creating an additional lane would help the traffic flow.
  • 96–98 Willson Rd Salem 01970, United States - City of Salem
First of the map is not putting the correct st it is calling Wilson st “rd”. Second why is it necessary to put all the pylons for a bike lane that no one uses. Most importantly when I am driving in my vehicle and there are cars on both sides and an emergency vehicle needs me to pull over where am I pulling over? You have created an unsafe situation and if an emergency vehicle is coming down there to my my house and your bike lane slows their ability to reach me or A family member then your going to have legal issues. Bikes need to “share” the road not take the whole road causing a dangerous situation.
  • Wilson St Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
So many people are upset, and I agree, with the Wilson Street bike lane. What no one has done is to present a solution aside from abandoning the entire project.
My solution, take away the poles and add a rumble strip, EXACTLY AS YOU DID ON FORT AVENUE WHICH WORKS INCREDIBLY WELL, without giving drivers the sense of being squeezed in together. This solves the emergency vehicle needing to pass, the snowplows ripping or damaging the poles, while still providing the driver with a warning system that they are off the road.
And yes, just today I almost got sideswiped by a landscapers truck and trailer crossing the double line into my lane. Scary...
  • 89–103 Washington St Salem MA 01970, United States - City of Salem
Fences are left blocking the bike lane
  • 90 Webb St Salem MA 01970, United States - City of Salem
Could you please put the beach back at Collins cove, the path is impassable for bikes, strollers or wheelchairs
  • Peter Tracy Multiuse Path Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
    Bike path light out
  • 27 Fort Avenue Salem, MA, 01970, USA - City of Salem
Please paint bicycle lanes on both sides of Fort Ave to be in compliance and remove “armadillos.” They are a hazard and prevent a vehicle from safely pulling over without causing excessive damage to one’s vehicle. Restructuring has created major safety hazard at intersection of Fort and Columbus Avenues. Terrible design.
