The Head Start building is on the corner of this street where 51 Head Start children and families, as well as approximately 20 School District enrolled children attend daily classes. The children, ages 2-5, arrive to these classes via family member or by LPOSD bus between the hours of 8am and 4pm. Parking for families is in our parking lot or street parking. To access our parking lot, one must enter through the one way alley(posted). While convenient for residents, the alley can sometimes be considered a hazard for wrong way drivers. My concern is regarding the safety of children and families. We would like to see this portion of the street be made into a school zone which included flashing lights during school hours, possibly an additional crosswalk and regular patroling. We would like to work with our neighbors and community to keep everyone safe and avoid potential accidents.
  • S 1st Ave & W Superior St Sandpoint, ID, 83864, USA - Sandpoint
The issue with 1st and Superior was closed with comments about awareness of the issue and part of the master plan. From what I can discover there is nothing specific in the master plan. This issue needs to a detailed plan for resolution. The issue needs a pedestrian light and other traffic management. The traffic has increased as a result of the Sandpoint City latest traffic planning. People are using South Sandpoint to cut through the city to avoid other congestion. I am requesting a detailed plan from Sandpoint to address this hazardous intersection.

While reviewing the "Streetscapes" section of the Downtown Revitalization 2 project information online, I came across a section explaining how the street lights are outfitted with internal cut-offs to comply with the City’s “Dark Sky” ordinance. I wasn't aware there was such an ordinance. I'm curious if the numerous downtown area realty offices with the extremely bright LED-backlit listings all across their windows are in compliance? Are those allowed to be on all night?

On a daily basis while we are driving north or south on Third St people do not yield and run the intersection at Superior. The whole neighborhood has extremely close near misses. They look right at you and speed up and then flip you off after they ran the yield sign. This week I have been almost hit everyday, I’ve stopped riding my motorcycle down that street from our house, to dangerous. If they won’t stop for a car, they won’t stop for a motorcycle nor slow down.
  • 200-298 Church St Sandpoint, ID, 83864, USA - Sandpoint
Exiting the public parking lot onto church is impassable to see oncoming west bound traffic because of vehicles allowed to park within a few feet of the entrance. Seems to be a common thread throughout town. Why can't we remove those parking spots that are so close to exits? Same at the post office. Almost get hit trying to nudge out onto Church, very dangerous

There is a pool at this location and it has been full of water for a while now. There is no fencing or other safety features to protect young children from getting into the pool.
Unfortunately our community just suffered the loss of a child who drowned. I don't want that to happen again. Please suggest that the owners of this pool empty the water when it is not in use.,

Thank you for finally painting the Walk Your Wheels logo at the intersections. Since atleast half (from observation) of the bicycle, scooter, skateboard users are unaware or purposefully ignoring the signage and have now 'marked' the new Panida signage, would it be possible to have officers or community resource personnel walk the downtown streets especially in the late afternoon to remind the wheeled users of the city's policy?
  • Bridge St Sandpoint ID 83864, United States - Sandpoint
Traffic making a left hand turn off of Bridge Street onto First is creating a dangerous cluster at times It's already signed with a no left turn signage on the far side of the intersection, but maybe the city could add additional signage on the existing stop sign and provide a little police enforcement as the situation only seems to get worse with additional summer traffic

A city-wide power outage in the cold of December deserves some type of notice It's all city tax payers impacted so it's not just an Avista issue And Facebook is not a legitimate emergency communication service!
