Notified About

  • Linnaean St & Raymond St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
Ever since Garden Street became one way, Raymond has been inundated with cars, trucks, school buses, and delivery vehicles. Raymond isn’t wide enough to accommodate all this extra traffic, along with heavy pedestrian use and cyclists. Someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse unless something is done about this. Cars need to be directed away from Raymond into larger streets. At a minimum, we need to have no turns onto Raymond from 7-9am and 5-7pm.
  • Alewife Brook Pkwy & Massachusetts Ave Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
This morning, I had to go to Shattuck Ace hardware, Arlington to pick-up special-order items. Mass Ave was backed up, so I made a right at Churchill Ave (0,2 miles from ABP) to go to Broadway in Somerville. When I turned right onto Alewife Brook Pkwy at the end of Matignon Road, I noticed the westbound Alewife Brook Pkwy was backed up beyond the traffic light at Woodstock Street for total of at least 0.3 miles.
On the way back, once again, I ran into stalled traffic on the southbound Mass Ave on Arlington side.
Please do something to mitigate this traffic congestions during rush hour if for nothing else but to reduce air pollution caused by all the idling cars.
Sometimes the backup on northbound side goes all the way back to Pemberton. All told, there could be a mile or more if cards idling and that is a lot of air pollution!
Please conduct traffic survey to measure the length of traffic backup on all 4 sides of the intersection during the peak of rush hour. TP&T has shown that they can conduct traffic survey without traffic counters during the community meeting period of the Cycling Safety Ordinance implementation in north Mass Ave so I am sure they can redo this survey.
    Thank you
  • 2377 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
I recently submitted an issue regarding the creation of a bus lane in 1 of the 2 lanes on Mass Ave, near Day Street as approaches route 2. It has created incredible traffic congestion. In addition to my previous report, I'd also like to mention it makes even less sense now that MBTA has just announced service cuts. Additionally, as COVID cases rise, many folks are reluctant to take public transportation (understanding for some there is no choice). I have not seen any buses in the bus lane, as I sit in traffic for 30 min for 10 blocks every day (previously 5 min or so). This is incredibly frustrating, in already frustrating times, and I do hope this can be reconsidered.
  • 56 Concord Ave Cambridge MA 02138, United States - Neighborhood 9

I am standing in front of my condo building on Concord Avenue and I am very startled and frustrated by the traffic lining the outbound street between Huron Ave. and Craigie Street.

Currently, there is a solid line of cars, buses, delivery trucks, and construction vehicles up and down the street.

This is not a suitable traffic pattern and has an immediate negative impact on me and my neighbors on Concord Ave.

I am supportive of bicyclists and all modes of transport, but cannot believe that this is the best scenario for our fair Cambridge. This is not a good look for our city or the planning that goes into traffic upgrades / projects.

I hope that we can find an alternate solution that supports all.

    Respectfully submitted.

  • 2382 Massachusetts Ave Cambridge MA 02140, United States - North Cambridge
3 more cars parked in the bike lane. Completely blocking the area.o
  • 2370 Ma-2a Cambridge, MA 02140, USA - North Cambridge
Greek Corner customers park illegally every night at the corner of Mass Ave and Dudley. This is more than a bike lane issue. They block car traffic by double parking and they block pedestrians by parking in the crosswalk. The bike lane issue has been a problem every night since the separated lanes were installed. Greek Corner should be made to deal with the problems being caused by their customers.
  • Huron Ave & Rc Kelley St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Neighborhood 9
The traffic on Huron going from Concord to Garden is now backed up for several hours a day (due to the change on Garden St). Signals at both intersections need to be adjusted so that the Concord and Huron intersection is not blocked by the line of cars (which makes people start maneuvering around and thats unsafe for pedestrians and bikers alike). And the lights at Huron and Garden need to be adjusted now that there are so many more cars approaching on Huron, it can take 4+ light cycles to get from Concord to Garden between 2 and 7 pm.
  • Van Norden St & Yerxa Rd Cambridge, MA, 02140, USA - North Cambridge
An opening in the fence or gate in conjunction with the curb cut would allow better access to the school yard and reduce congestion on the sidewalk during arrival/dismissal.
  • 18 Ware Street Cambridge, Massachusetts, 02138 - Mid-Cambridge
got birds near 18 Ware Street Cambridge Chirping so, loudly early morning 2:38am this is every single day goes on all morning afternoon evening and the birds suddenly stop Chirping around 9:30pm at night help who are these birds why so, much loud chirping. something needs to be done, it's disturbing my sleep
  • Aberdeen Ave & Mt Auburn St Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - West Cambridge

On the NE corner of this intersection is a sign "Left turn on left arrow only". This sign is either ignored or not seen by a large number of east-bound drivers turning left on to Aberdeen. Walking across this intersection twice today I witnessed six vehicles make illegal turns, including two that honked and then angrily swerved around a vehicle obeying the law.

Because of the ineffectiveness of this sign, this intersection is dangerous to:
    1. Oncoming (west-bound) traffic on Mt. Auburn
    2. Pedestrians crossing the north side of Mt. Auburn
    3. Drivers obeying the sign who are subject to angry behavior from those who ignore it.

I believe a good solution is to add a Red Left Arrow that is illuminated at all times that the green left arrow is off.

    Hi,

I live in Central square and it’s been almost a week( starting from May 25th) that there are multiple really loud firecracker and fireworks noises every nights (7pm-2am) from north(Mid-Cambridge). It’s really loud that I’m sure all my neighbor communities in Cambridge and even Somerville can hear it too. It def passed beyond the noise control level. I’m ok with some of them before 11PM but it just seems really strange to have firecracker noise in the sky multiple times per night at around 12AM and 1AM still, like today(May 28th). It completely destroys my sleep for the whole week but I had no clue what those loud fireworks noise’s for. Could you please take a look at the firework noise that’s been happening everyday from May 25th in Cambridge? Many thanks!

  • Brattle St & Harvard Sq Cambridge, MA, 02138, USA - Mid-Cambridge

Especially during rush hour, the roads through Harvard Square need to be closed to vehicles. There are way too many pedestrians and cyclists trying to get to the MBTA stop and the sidewalks are way too narrow.

Until this is done, the city needs to post multiple crossing guards to keep people safe, as well as have a police office on hand to ticket drivers who run lights and do not stop behind the stop line. It'd also be good if a tow truck can be on hand to remove cars blocking crosswalks and bike lanes. The City's negligence could lead to serious injury or death if action isn't taken swiftly.
