Is the current construction on this property intended to be an assisted living facility? If so, how will ambulance noise, 24-hour light illumination and parking be addressed with regards to the residents in immediate proximity. This parcel is currently zoned as a R1, low density single family dwelling.

New lights are obnoxiously bright. Looks like a movie set on our street. Have heard same complaints from relatives on Portner. Expect many more complaints. Please either baffle the lights or change the bulbs. Thank you.

So i sent a concern a few weeks ago and have not heard back. It's Wednesday and the trash company just picked up all the recyclables at 5:57am. What time are they allowed to pick up trash in the city?
  • Grant Ave Manassas, VA, 20110, USA - Manassas
The lot purchased as the future site of the Manassas City Police Department has sat unused for at least three years now. It is also unkempt and not in keeping with City ordinances regarding tall grass both in the fenced area and adjacent to it. It is used during the day and evening to make deals of all sorts. If you expect others to comply, please lead the way and do something to make this less of an eyesore. BTW the streetscape is not the answer. Thank you.

There are 2 really old and big sycamore trees in between my house and the museum. They are covered in ivy which is not good. A giant branch fell on my shed. Not a big issue but the branch looks to be rotted. Could someone please check the tree out for issues. It's huge and if it comes down it's coming on my master bedroom.
  • Signal Hill Rd Manassas, VA, 20110, USA - Manassas
While walking along Signal Hill Road this morning I found this and another scooter right next to it laying in the grass. This is in front of Old Town Station. I am assuming these are the scooters currently for rent in Old Town. I would like to know who pays for picking these up? Are City employees tasked with returning these to Old Town and if so is the City reimbursed for this labor?
  • 9116 Grant Ave Manassas VA 20110, United States - Manassas
How do we get improved patrols on Grant Avenue (and nearby major arteries) to address the growing nuisance from speeding vehicles with obscenely loud mufflers. The "parade" tonight includes more than 20 vehicles driving well over the posted speed limit, driving recklessly and being a general nuance with their loud engines and mufflers. They are evidently driving a route; they've passed our house at least three times. Some police presence, writing violations and curtailing this is appreciated. Thank you.

Homeowner has several commercial vans leaking oil on the street. Evident are the puddles on each side of the driveway and the trail of oil going down Fort Drive

There is a monstrous public heath and safety concern with the Manassas Volunteer Fire Company. These volunteers respond to our 9-1-1 calls and I am grateful for their service. However, with their constant contact with the public, they need to wear PPE to ensure they are not spreading COVID to one another and/or when they come into our houses for emergency calls .They even go so far to ive civilians a ride on their equipment that were not wearing PPE nor social distancing. Then the firemen use this exact same equipment to respond to taxpayer's homes when we have emergencies. It is unacceptable that the fire company does not adhere to the CDC guidelines and Manassas City health codes. Our small businesses are struggling and following all guidelines yet these volunteers are not held to the same standards. These individuals go into everyone's homes and businesses, and are quite likely super spreaders. Whyis the City arbitrarily enforcing inequitable COVID pandemic guidelines? Why are certain individuals not being held to the same standards as the rest of the city?e

We can't even hear the TV due to the traffic noise coming from Godwin Drive all day long. Build a wall to protect our homes or lower the speed limit!!

    To whom this may concern,

The parking situation in the Georgetown South Neighborhood is unacceptable. I recently purchased a home in this neighborhood and I would have chose another city had I known how Manassas handles the parking here.

First problem is there are too many decals. Does the city even know how many they have issued? Is there a limit to the number of vehicle decals that can be registered to a single house?

Second problem is the street sweeping. Where are we supposed to go? half of the parking lot is ticketed for 10 hours out of the week. Not everyone needs to work at 7 am, where am I supposed to park when literally all of the spots are taken? I spent 20 minutes at 7am looking for parking and failed to find anything remotely close to my home.

Ive seen correspondence from the HOA in 2015 stating there are 1,760 parking spots, enough for 2 per house. If the city is selling more decals then there spots then its pretty clear the motive is revenue for the city at the expense of this community.

To me the solution is clear. Charge more per decal and limit to 2 per household. $50 a year is not unreasonable if it meams there will always be parking available.

Intsead of street sweeping why not a team of leaf blowers and like other communities? Cars dont need to move. Street sweepers may cost less but if the city charges more for decals then that shouldn't be an issue right?

To us it feels predatory to force citizens of this neighborhood into a situation where we are figting for parking spaces or weighing sleep against $50 tickets.

It's a disgrace and a failure and should be allowed to continue.

    Hi,
Can the road crossing the train tracks by the old brick factory, on Godwin, be improved much like the crossings near Jennie Dean school and Godwin and Wellington? Some people almost come to a dead stop to cross the tracks, possibly causing the car behind them to stop or swerve to avoid them. Such a fine job was done on the other two crossings, why not this one?

    Thanks
