deep indention around sewer grate and manhole that spans across the south heading bikelane on harvard street dangerous to bikers who have to swerve to avoid it. pavement is intact but the drop riding over it is equal to a pothole for bikers in the lane
Due to sidewalk construction, there is no safe route along Sutherland Rd. One sidewalk has a "sidewalk closed use other side" south, but beige sidewalk is open, so pedestrians are left to walk down the center of the road, in an area that sees a lot of speeding and red light running. If one is in a wheel chair or uses a walker there is no way to pass.
The bike lane in front of St Columbkille's is used as parking often overnight and during services on Sunday mornings. Writing to the church has had no effect, the city really needs to do something about this lane. Vehicles coming up market st are often speeding to make it through the light in time, putting people biking in even more danger when forced to leave the bike lane. This lane needs proper protection and enforcement. Thus far, it seems that convenient (illegal) parking is a hirer priority for the city than safety for residents biking.
This traffic light needs enforcement. In one walk to and from the corner store at around 9:30pm, I watched not one, but two cars fly through red lights along Comm Ave at speed. One flew through about four or five seconds after the light changed, WHILE I WAS IN THE CROSSWALK. This driving isn't uncommon. It happens almost daily. How many pedestrian deaths on Comm Ave until we can get some enforcement or some traffic calming. What are they average speeds here? How frequently are red lights run? Does the city have any data on this?
