Notified About

  • Holden St Between Promenade And Smith Streets Providence, RI 02908, USA - Smith Hill

Update: the edges of the patches have begun to erode into potholes, pavement is uneven, huge sunken divots make driving challenging, and the street is heavily travelled as a cut through by those seeking to avoid the mall.

Original: Lower Holden Street (between Smith and Promenade) has been dug up and patched so many times that the following conditions exist: huge patched divots causing cars to bottom out; potholes; frost heaves; cracked pavement. The entire street should be repaved as soon as possible. Also, parking laws are not enforced, making driving difficult.

  • U.S. 44 Providence, RI 02908, USA - Smith Hill

**Update: This obviously will not become an issue again until next fall, but it should be researched (who is responsible) and fixed before then.

Original message: Many, many pedestrians use the Smith Street overpass over 95 to get to the train station, mall, or State House. However, no one ever clears the ice and snow from the sidewalks. Several times this winter I saw people slip and fall on the ice/ snow, and sometimes this forced pedestrians into the more dangerous street. The City should clear this area as a matter of public safety, even if the state is technically responsible. Thank you.

  • 62 Bainbridge Ave Providence, RI 02909, USA - Federal Hill
  • Harris And Atwells Providence, RI - Valley
As you are approaching the intersection from Valley headed to route 10, there are 2 signs stating the left lane is for left hand turns or straight. When you get to the intersection the left lane is for a left turn only. The signs should be removed
  • Stillman St Providence, RI 02903, USA - Downtown
The stop sign at this intersection is down again, sign was laying flat on the ground this morning. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the last 6 months. Very dangerous for cars and pedestrians as cars coming up Stillman rushing to the train don't stop!!!

  • 235 Broadway Providence, RI 02903, USA - Federal Hill
The light and walk lights dont work. Takes a long time to find a break in the traffic to cross. Stood there for 10 minutes with my kids and no one stopped. Please fix this!
  • 1850 Westminster St Providence, RI 02909, USA - Olneyville
Two way traffic dividing line is not visible. Causing problems as east-bound traffic regularly crosses over into oncoming traffic. Yikes!
  • 92 Petteys Ave Providence, RI 02909, USA - Hartford

Early in the morning at about 5-6am, Johnston Landfill routinely releases a methane gas on a routine basis. This gas invades and covers the south and south-east suburbs. It smells like sewage and noxious chemicals all mixed together. This happens on many mornings, including every day of this last week, ranging over the last two years (at least). I know that this is methane gas because when I finally tracked down the problem, I spoke with the landfill's manager, who told me this was the case.

I have tried to enlist responses in many different ways, all with no results at all. What does it take??

  • State Highway 10 Providence, RI 02903, USA - Federal Hill
When walking up Dean St. cars are blind to pedestrians while they try to use the crosswalk that takes you across the on ramp for rt. 6/10. It feels as though I risk getting hit every time I cross. I think that it could be improved by moving the crosswalk so that it didn't start from inside the exit and so that it just followed the trajectory of the street and the sidewalk.
  • 150 4th St Providence, RI - Hope
