Snow-Streets not shoveled Archived181 Somerville Avenue Somerville, Massachusetts - SomervilleThe bus stop and sidewalk on Somerville Ave between BurgerKing and John's Auto is impassible because all the snow from John's Auto has been push onto it. The same is true on the intersection with McGrath and Somerville Ave on the other side of John's Auto. It's a real danger for pedestrians because they are walking in the street instead.

18 Somerville Avenue Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville
Two issues with recent intersection design changes.
1. People stop on the bike box rather than 'behind'the bike box.
2. Right-most lane is used as a through lane rather than the right-turn only lane that it is.

Somerville Avenue Extension Somerville, MA - SomervilleSomeville Avenue Extension is the portion of Somerville Ave that runs under the McGrath highway overpass and intersects with Linwood St. The sidewalks are piled with snow, not shoveled and completely impassable for walking. Pedestrians are forced to walk in the roadway, which includes a blind turn and is extremely dangerous due to speeding traffic.

Add a Crosswalk? ArchivedPark St At Ivaloo St Somerville, Massachusetts - SomervilleI was wondering if it might be possible to add a pedestrian crosswalk on Park St in the vicinity of Ivaloo St. Park St only has crosswalks at either end, with no crosswalks in the middle. Drivers speed frequently, meaning that there is no real safe way to cross without walking pretty far out of the way. This is somewhat disappointing, especially this time of the year, as I find I frequently need to cross the street to avoid getting stuck in unshoveled sidewalks.

Traffic & Parking- Miscellaneous Archived282 Lowell Street Somerville, MA 02145, USA - SomervilleThe two speed monitors on both sides of the Lowell Street bridge have not been working much lately. I suspect the reason is because the solar panels that power the batteries are aimed north. They should be directed south, so they actually face the Sun.

Northbound Lane is a Mess Archived250 Willow Ave. Somerville, MA - SomervilleThe 'bike zone' of the northbound lane of Willow Ave is riddled with potholes bad enough to pop a tube, forcing cyclists to ride in the middle of an already too-narrow street. This is a highly dangerous area.

Right side of street disintegrating Archived15 Webster Ave Somerville, MA - Somerville
Somerville DPW ticket #212963
The whole first block of Webster out of Union Square is terribly potholed. It seems like the entire right side of the street is just a disintegrating mess of old patch jobs. In some places, the potholes are so deep that you can see the cobblestones underneath. Bikes are left with the dubious choice of taking the whole travel lane during rush hour, or staying and riding over the potholes, trying not to be thrown off their bikes.

278 Beacon Street Somerville, Massachusetts - Somerville
I realize that Beacon Street someday will be reconstructed, but in the meantime I'm still commuting by bike down it every day, and my tires are maybe as wide as that banana. This pothole, or maybe one of the others like it, who knows, flatted me just the other day. It's enough of a hazard just biking around all the construction and traffic. Can't Somerville make an effort to keep the pavement intact and the debris swept?
Present conditions are worst between Park Street and Somerville Ave, but new holes open up every day.
